Inflation has gone through the roof or is the pound slided so much?

Three words....

The Wrong Price
another 3

They will sell
Sure in China and the Middle East. Doesn't mean they aren't the wrong price.....
Of course it does..the market..IE what someone will pay for something, unfortunately, does dictate the price..I had the same argument as you about the Lexus LFA but they sold at 350k..the 911 sport classic sold out at 140k...the GTS M3 sold out on pre order...these cars sell to collectors and enthusiast with deep pockets...why would BMW sell a car for 75k they can get 115k for?
Diamonds, gold, watches, any apple product, any fashion label clothing..price is not set by what things are worth but what people will pay

Love the way it looks but the price is completely barking! They'll sell them easily in China and the Middle East though.

As above, they'll have no bother shifting them that's for sure.

I suspect high production of 'halo' models is a false economy for manufacturers as that model is used to sell lesser models in the range. Although in this case its almost at the end of the E90 M3's life cycle which I find odd?

Remember, in 2003, £60k was a lot for a 3 series when the CSL went on sale ...

I think I'd rather make my own.

Buy one 4dr M3.

Buy more carbon panels.

Buy a fancy exhaust.

Buy some fancy springs/dampers.

Hmmm

Good, because I wouldn't want one if I had the money anyway.

It has red around the vents on the bonnet. Why! Why!

what a load of sh!te! 50kg 50!!!! Standard M3 saloon £53,000, add lightweight Recaros, say £2000? Saving probably 20-30kg. Akrapovic exhaust & Remap by Thorney Motorsport £4700, adding 50bhp and saving 30kg.
So for under £60k you have an M3 saloon that is lighter and more powerful than the the £115,000 M3 CRT. Yet they'll sell them all straight away! Total bo!!ocks!

Indeed....the world has changed though. I am still surprised that these people will buy a 3 series for that much money. I wonder what the GTS owners think ? I bet they'd rather have a GTS but it's a bit less exclusive than it was which ultimately is why people buy these things.

Good looking car but the price is ridiculous! Almost double the price of a standard M3 but certainly not 100% better!

I think it's quite cheap to be honest. It seems to be the first car in BMW's new CRT future so should would be very nice in a collection. You have to stop thinking about this as a car to drive and more a car to store, similar to that Porsche Classic that they released not so long ago with it's 1970 rear spoiler. That was not a guide to the future which this of course.

I always like q cars of course so perhaps I am biased.

I'd buy that. What's that you say? 115k? On second thought... no!

I really like the look of that (better than the GTS, IMO), but that's just silly money!

Anybody know the price of the new M5? Wouldn't you feel stupid if you bought one of these and the M5 turns out to be cheaper?!

Does look good, though.

hehe So they've made a 1.6 tonne car a whole 50kg lighter?
Hardcore racing car weight saving measures:
Handbook no longer in glovebox
Airbag warning sticker on sun visor printed on slightly thinner paper
No blue bits on BMW badge to cut down on paint weight
5 CD multichanger instead of 6 CD
Non illuminating cup holders

i dont u derstand all this pricing upset rubbish. Someone said it, but clearly not many share the view. Are you all upset because you would have bought one, if it were half the price? Has it disrupted your lives to the point where its worthy of such remark? Or are you just doing an acedemic excersice where you try to figure out whos charging what, for what value of parts , and figured that this particular m3 doesnt score very highly? People will pay. Simple. They are cashing in, on a small nuber of high end cars, sucessfully, why on earth would that upset anyone at all?
