Ah, but with TVR all the chassis from Griffith onwards are dimensionally very similar save the Cerbera's extra length, and within the three basic flavours of engine - RV8, AJP8 and S6 - there's huge scope for individual permutations. Then there is the innovation within the aftermarket - ACT, SC-Power, TVR Power et al).
My personal preference is for keeping the basic mechanical configuration and refining/improving it rather than creating hot rods/mongrels that will in all probability be virtually undriveable as per your Taimar/Speed 12 example.
With the 911 I guess the market is people preferring the aesthetics, focus and simplicity of the '60s/70s models but wanting to combine that with modern brakes, grip and 9to a point) power - with '90s TVRs it's more a case of nailing the final 10% that Blackpool didn't quite manage...

Isn't anyone curious what its like to drive one of these? Especially in comparison to the new 997's? I am. I wish we had some users here that could come on and talk about their real life experiences driving some of these re-done 911's!
If not the Ph get off your bums and get a drive in one of these along with a 997 gt-3, j

It is a much roarer experience which is what turned me on to 911's in the first place. No power steering that also loads up through corners, no abs brakes which takes off a massive amount of unsprung weight. The first time I ever drove a 911 was a mates 3.2 Carrera. It felt so alive, that if you drove over a match box you could tell the make of the matches. Just an incredible experience and they demand a lot of respect until you get to understand how the 911 works. Then put simply they are the best

Don't worry. While I was there I made sure with Rob that our name is on 'the list' when they start offering press-drives later this year. Probably won't be me who goes this time though If not the Ph get off your bums and get a drive in one of these along with a 997 gt-3, j

Are those VW Lupo headlights (as per the recently popular TVR Chim - 180 mm round Bosch/AL lights as std - conversion)?
VW Lupo lights on a $350,000 Singer Porsche? No I don't think so. The lights they use are made specially for them to their spec. A lot of the stuff they use is custom made for them and not available to anyone else, hence the price of the car.
Remember the write up Dickie Meaden did a few years ago in Evo, one of my favourite Evo articles ever.
