There is no gap in the market, surely the 4 or 5 that are over here already have filled it.

I thought private security firms might go for it but as they usually run lpg'd fiestas and the like these may be a bit steep.

Reading through the website it states they bring over plain white or black generic cars then sticker them up to the customer's liking, so are they actually even ex-police cars, it's a bit confusing/misleading.
I'm pretty sure the Crown Vic has only been available to government buyers for several years. Plenty of unmarked and FBI etc cars to choose from if you don't go for stickered ones.

The last ones where fleet only. But plenty sold to public in years past. Taxi's are also another common use of the Crown Vic.

The Interceptor spec and unmarked are slightly different to the regular models.

In the imortal words of Elwood "It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?" Half a pack of cigs and we're off...hit it!!

23grand sterling- even with shipping, import duty, SVA and LPG costs these should be a lot lower mileage to start with- $10K will buy you a refurbed 70 thousand mile 2006 P71.

The people quoting 2 to 3 grand are dreaming- they will be utter wrecks and lower powered older models to boot.

By 'slightly different' I take it you mean 'slight' differences like a lsd, different rear axle ratio, more power, heavier duty suspension, extra oil cooler, calibrated speedo, integrated spotlight and if you buy the right car 'fire supression' system.

The P71 drives NOTHING like it's civilian counterpart.

Slightl off on a tangent but doees anybody else remember a programme on Discovery (I think) a few years back pitting a Crown Vic vs a police spec V70T5 a in a few challenges. Was interesting but t'internet failing me when I looked for it...

Yep: the crown vic won being faster/better in every test other than braking..........

Really, IIRC the V70 was quicker in the drag and braking, lost the slalom and failed miserably in the ELK test

Wish we could find it- I remember the P71 being terrible in the braking section but thought it had won the drag due to rwd traction from the line....you're probably right though it was a long time ago that I watched it.

23 Grand !

These things are about 8k NEW if you are an American Police force!!! Who are they kidding 23 grand??? Almost every car in New York is one of these, police, taxi, limo. Endless Crown Victorias... How depressing.
