Not every! The Mustang has always been a big car so nothing has changed there, it's not much heavier and has the most powerful engines and best handling it's ever had all for rather less, I would imagine, than a pro-rata Mustang cost in the 60s.
Valid points. I was thinking more in terms of the visual design language than the overall ownership proposition. The Mini is probably the worst offender in the category, having ballooned so much in size.
I hear you brother! I think the MINI, 500 and Beetle have pretty much lost any link with the originals. At least the Yanks were enormous to start with and with the 2014 Mustang rumoured to be down-sizing, they may be the last of a graet line of proper leviathans.

Don't think you'll currently find one there. If I recall they start building demo stock in the coming weeks, so in the UK that will equate to something to see at a dealer in September.

I am more interested in if MrSpike can find out

1 - when they will get one in Asia
2 - will Thailand classify it as a bike or a car
2.1 - as this will set a precedent for singapore too!

if i recall correctly, wasn't it the boss of Toyota at one of teh big Car Shows a few years ago that was quoted in his speech about the future of the car industry "in 20 years time there will only be 4 or 5 parent car manufacturers, and one of them will still be Morgan!"

or something like that - probably in Japanese too.

great car though .... is this classified as a Bike or a Car? (thinking is it an affordable thing to bring over here scratchchin
Almost spot on but was the boss of Honda.

Abolutely awesome.

Well done Morgan for making a car that is guarenteed to be fun to drive and be seen driving in.

I am a little surprised at the 500kg weight (with fluids I assume), I would have expected closer to 400kg?

I think it will classify as a motorcycle but has issues if there is (certainly at moment has) reverse gear fitted.
All three wheelers without reverse classified as trycles/motor bikes with sidecar and cheap tax.
Probably not now in Cameron time and current box may well retain reverse.
Early Morgans were probably dragged round to face other way.

The fiddle with some was plate accross gate into reverse, 2 screws undone and reverse was in play.

The orginal red one shown in article is superb, chain drive and may only be two speed ?

JAP engines that were in the hot Morgans (JTOR etc) had a display in the up to date version, thats what is needed in this version, that or the Aussie Irving Vincent 1000cc V Twin at 165bhp and with excellent torque. Ex old motor cyclist yaps onlaugh

no one has mentioned the random tie up with super dry... Wtf, is all that about? Do they need made up japaneseish retro t shirt branding to 'aid' their 'credibility'. Im sure its fun. But it is made in a shed, and costs as much as a proper car. Intersting toy at best.

I reckon this new morgan will be a total hoot at legal speeds, and surely this is something we should all be hankering after?

This is a car that is entirely about the pleasure of driving. Its not about 'safety' or 'comfort' or 'practicality'. Its about the pure feeling you get from driving. Cornering, braking and accelerating will all feel great. And surely thats the point? Plus it'll be the ultimate head turner!

They are not exhausts, they are there to deal with Gatso's, tailgaters and those annoying people who flash at you after you have overtaken!!!

Shame you can't get these as a kit to do a home build

The possibly slightly unfinished appearance of a home build ;-) would to my mind suit the nature of these and the olde worlde charm.

In the dark green, with the roundal and the teeth for me.
And a couple of crossed out sportscar silhouettes.

I'm a little surprised at the weight, too.

My 1962 +4 was weighed for registration, before the windscreen was fitted, & was only 740Kg. The windscreen was not very heavy.
That was with the heavy TR3A engine, & the Jag XK 120 gearbox & diff.

This new 3 wheeler thing must pretty heavily, [strongly] built.
