Have you deliberately misunderstood, people aren't saying he's wierd for phoning the police, people think its a bit odd that two chaps are driving round in a car, with a camera following people they think are driving badly.
Do you not think thats odd?
If not, why the hell not?
Think are driving badly ? That's pretty bloody obvious isn't it, given that she's almost had a head-on ?Do you not think thats odd?

From another forum, which if true is shocking:
"No news reports were made, and she got away lightly with a 2 year suspended, 200 hours community service, 2 year ban and had to pay the victim £500 compensation, just because she had young kids herself."
People have got more for speeding. This country is fked.
Any reason no news reports were made? Any reason why the originator of the film does not release the name of the person (there is no legal reason why he could not)?"No news reports were made, and she got away lightly with a 2 year suspended, 200 hours community service, 2 year ban and had to pay the victim £500 compensation, just because she had young kids herself."

I'm prepared to be wrong, but this seems fishy.
If you check out the name mentioned they are an exhaust fabrication company, quite possibly the cam is used to record in-car footage of their exhausts on various cars, though the camera car sounded pretty sedate.
May not be prevalent here, but in the US quite a few companies install these cameras in their fleet vehicles to monitor driving, I believe it results in insurance savings for the company as well. Just another possibility as to why there was a camera in the car.
Or we could just stick with him being a nutter.

If I suspected someone was driving whilst drunk, I would follow them for a short time and call the Police [on the hands free of course].Do you not think thats odd?

ETA - I've never actually followed anyone - but then I've never encountered driving like that thank God or felt the need.

So what are you suggesting? It's CGI? It's a Hollywood film?I'm prepared to be wrong, but this seems fishy.
1) The company who posted the video also supply the dash cam commercially
2) It seems suspicious that they, being dash cam suppliers and installers, would randomly be tooling about at that time, make predictions which miraculously come true
3) That there is no public record of the incident or prosecution, despite there being salacious and valuable to the press footage that normally gets these things in the national press
It might be that I'm wrong, and I would happily accept that, but on my first impression all does not seem right.

I love that last one; if it's not on Google then it never happened.Find me the court, the conviction and the convicted's name. It's obviously going to be a high profile case in the local area- mainly down to the fact it's caught on camera, which rareyl happens. In other such cases they'd appear prominently on Daily Mail etc.
Nothing to do with Google.

They do seem to be a commercial entity selling car bits, but if the video was an advertising or publicity exercise then they failed miserably as there doesn't see to be any mention of the camera model involved, price etc. Most google returns seem to show they concentrate on exhausts anyway. With that in mind there does seem to be understandable reason for the camera being in the car as it isn't uncommon for car accessory companies to outfit their cars with the various products they sell.1) The company whe posted the video also supply the dash cam commercially

That is pretty much the most shocking thing I've ever seen on youtube. Jesus, I'm actually shaking.Yep, it looks like she got 2 years suspended sentance, 2 year driving ban, 200 hours community service and had to pay £500 compensation to the man she knocked down.
I thought it was a bit weird the men driving around commenting on other peoples driving inadequancies. But hats off to them, the passenger immediatly got out of the car to help the man an the driver chased her down quickly and safely. If they hadn't interviened the women would have gone about her day, and an elderly man would have laid in the street in pain for a while until somebody found him and called an ambulance.
And, no need to use the hands-free to call the police, if its an emergancy you can drive whilst on the phone

Is it me or did the chap woith the camera not swear? Perhaps its me, but if that's the case is that not a bit odd?
Not so much odd, but certainly sad that there is now the expectation that people will swear. Believe it or not there are still people out there who are polite and well mannered enough to not swear in public, particularly in the presence of a woman (can't bring myself to call her a lady).Sadly, I don't think this event would be news worth would it? Footage aside of course and that's only had a few thousand views so unlikely to have been picked up by the press yet.
As to the bloke, well at the beginning he was saying about how she would use more fuel by accelerating/braking etc. Seemed like it might be a dad teaching his teenage kids, the route had a few driving school cars along it.

I'm geussing that he just likes to modify cars (based on his own videos) - and that's just one of the mods he's done.
I've got the same setup in my car.

I wonder which Crown Court sentenced her."No news reports were made, and she got away lightly with a 2 year suspended, 200 hours community service, 2 year ban and had to pay the victim £500 compensation, just because she had young kids herself."

Anyone able to find out?
And for all of those who say "just happened to be recording" & "made predictions that came true".
My camera runs whenever the ignition is on... sometimes I make predictions that don't come true, but sometimes they do. Anyone who saw that driving (esp the near head on) would probably make some comment about the fact she's going to crash.
As for it being convenient they also sell the cameras (or fit them) - RoadHawk have a YouTube channel full of the same things. Maybe they uploaded the video but put their name on it to see if they could use it to sell the product? Certainly many people in this thread would like to buy it... Or maybe it's one they fitted for a customer that gave them the video.
The actual hit does look a little weird, but I've never seen a real person get hit by a car.
