Even though I went on a few European driving holidays, I suspect the longest continuous stretch would actually be my regular Reading -> Edinburgh runs a few years ago. About 400 miles door to door.
Actually, that's mince. I did Reading to La Plagne in the Alps in one hit (with Dover->Calais, obviously). So about 700 miles total. Think it took 12 hours.

Me and my mates once drove from cornwall to holyhead, then to doncaster, then back to cornwall in one hit. Swapped drivers 3 times but that was about 1000 miles on total smile

745 miles, so not as much as many on here but... it was in the Caterham driving
'Caterham' miles count as double.
Running without screen/doors counts as triple.

Did this
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=Rocamadour,+Fr...

710 miles, 12 hours including 3 fuel stops and an extremely boring 2 hour stop waiting for the chunnel (which was crap, took *ages* and I'll never use again!)

On the way to France I wasn't going mad but sat at about 80 or so. On the way back decided to try going via Paris, where the new sat nav threw a wobbler right in the middle of Paris, but it was a bit quicker (but a lot more boring roads)

The longest I've ever done was Milton Keynes to here
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=mk7+8qb&da...

via the alps 1200 or so miles with a couple of long stops for food and rest, and *lots* of stops for fuel and fags.

So tired by the end of it, two bikes had an accident and one lad got a dislocated shoulder.

But all fine the next day smile

Doesn't google maps use an average speed on m'ways of 50mph? And A roads are 30mph, B roads 20mph, towns 10mph? (that's the defaults my sat nav uses - the town one may be right but the rest are a bit slow!)

Cork - Dublin - Holyhead - Dover - Calais - Monza. 1,220 miles and 22 hours non stop in a S2000. Return trip 48 hours later.

Not a highly recommended thing to do.

672 miles, NE Scotland to SW England.

In-laws lived in Devon so it was a twice yearly holiday destination. Fastest time was around 10 hours and the slowest around 16 hours in the snow. This has been done in various cars from a 1.4 Almera to 2.0 Hyundai Coupe which was mega comfy with the superb bonus of cruise control, although it turns out this won't hold a speed above 115mph on cruise and always drops back to it wink

OH won't do this journey in either of the current cars and flying down is sooo much nicer anyway.

Coming back from a trip to the Highlands I had planned on staying overnight in Edinburgh, but when I got there around 10pm I wasn't tired, so decided to push on and drive through the night. After 610 miles I found out the A34 was shut south of Oxford and I got stuck at Cherwell Valley services. Too tired to think of a diversion I grabbed a couple of hours sleep before driving the remaining 60 miles.

Tiredness led me to believe I knew better than the satnav, so this turned out to be the 'loooong route' -
Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort William - Edinburgh - A1,Newcastle - Leeds - M6,Manchester - Hampshire - 670 miles.

Not something I'll ever be doing again, especially not overnight. I felt like st afterwards.

At the weekend I did 950 miles and a party and five house sleep in the middle.

It was a rather ace PH'ers party so it had to be done.

Today was a bit of a slow day though.

Perhaps a better question would be - whats the longest you've driven with cruise control on without touching the brakes? My record is Ringwood, Dorset (possibly Hants) to the M25 (at a naughty speed too), got close to a few vehicles and understand why some are against the idea (illegal in Belgium according to TG)

Chislehurst, Kent to Glasgow only about 450 miles, but no stops other than a few give ways at either end.

Did the trip both ways a few times, not on the same day though, used to take about six to seven hours iirc.

M42 to M25... But it's a bit of a cheat as the car has ACC so it does the pedal stuff for you.

920 miles on my previous bike (GSXR600) to Nice
840 miles in a car, but I regularly drive 700 miles plus in a day for work, and drive 650ish a couple of times a year to Hamburg as well.
Doesn`t seem to effect me at all wobble

Just done in one week (deep breath)

Manchester - Folkstone - Metz (France) - Lake Gardia (Italy) - Lake Como (Italy) - Trento (Italy) - Stelvio Pass (Italy) - Gothard Tunnel (Italy/Switzerland) - Lucern (Switzerland).

That trip was done all in 5 days with a 3 day stop over in Lake Gardia, wait for it.......... on a 2009 BMW GS 1200 Adventurer. I couldn't walk straight for a week, but that's another story haha, joke.

Then came the return, Lucern (Switzerland) - Calais (France) - Folkstone - Manchester. All in one day.

Oh yeah, i also cut through Germany but i didn't know what part so i'm not putting it in.

And for the die harders out there, i did it all without Sat Nav. The only place i got lost.........fking London haha biggrin
