Good work.

I've been turning blue after holding my breath for a decent SOTW following the fiesta Puma debacle.

£900, run till it drops, weigh in, job done.

PH still haven't done the Fiat Coupe yet, which are available at less than a grand and would make a great shed. Anybody else want to see a Fiat Coupe shed?
I beg to differ... http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=162&i=197...

Still... might be time for an SOTW comeback for it

Slight correction of original article - the 750iL in the James Bond film was actually a 740iL rebadged for the film.

Not a lot of people know that.
Now thats proper trivia woohoo (none of your "they share the same glovebox hinge as a metro")
...and on the other side of the coin, this (from "The Transporter"]:

was actually a one-off manual 750i badged as a 735i.

This is my shed. Cheaper to run (730 V8), manual, nearly same performance, much easier to come by - if something minor goes wrong.

And more style, by the way...

So much car for the money. Interior looks just like my Alpina B10 with the German favourite of gray leather and wood.

It has undersized tyres. There 16" E38 wheels.

This the size the tyres are meant to be

I approve, really cool cars these thumbup

728i is the one I would probably go for, they move along nicely and actually get half decent MPG on a run. I assume easier to maintain as well.

Top SOTW, lovely car.

Had a met blue 730i V8 a few years back.

Lovely car. Superb build quality. Smooth ride, and they feel very planted for such a big car.

Alot of the nikasil issues are now sorted, otherwise you'd know about it by now!

Only thing is they like a drink! But, perfect motorway cruisers.

One of the better models to go for are the 740i Sports, MY 2000 onwards, which come with the sports leather interior, 18" M Parallels, etc.

So mch car for the cash.

A good 740i is a superb car, in every way. But, I wouldn't personally even consider buying one from a seller/owner who couldn't be bothered to fit the correct sized wheels and tyres.

Love these great beasts!

Fancied one as a second, more comfortable car in the winter when the '5 is locked up and cozy, but alas group 19 insurance and 1 years no claims soon put a stop to that frown

Very cool shed!

It's not too bad in a E32, but no way in an E38.

Still, as with the S Class Mercs, Jag XJs, Lexus LS, Audi A8, you really need an auto 'box to add to the sensation of wafting around!

E32s are also lovely machines. Your one has the 750iL alloys fitted?

I had a late ('94) model, one or the last M30 3.0 six cylinder mmodels, and that had the wider grill.

Gives the car a much more purposeful stance.
