I don't know why but my gut instinct is that this car was from a dealers forecourt and was advertising the fact that it is an '05' plate car.

(Cue you telling me it was on a generation of Micra pre '05 plate!)

No, it was a third gen, '02 - '10 model, so it could be but that was the only plate front and rear.
