A friend has WOG 1 on his Jaguar, and it is the original plate from day one in 1957. DVLA were talking of taking it back, but he still has it for now.
BTW, you gifted ones, can anyone tell me what has happened to my old plate 47 AJB? Just curious. I sold it after many years because I got fed up with people saying "I know where you were".
OMG. I was following that plate only this morning!! It's on a Jag XKR now wink
Registration: 47AJB
Make: JAGUAR
Model: XK (SPORTS)
Colour: GREY

BUT NOT with DVLA or askmid
47AJB is NOT showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today

I saw 6OLF recently - not on a VW though - in fact I can't remember exactly what car it was on, but it was fairly ordinary - certainly worth far less than the plate
This?

Indeed, WOG was issued, forward only, although actually in 1958.The 'plate bible' (Woodall & Heaton) actually mention that plate in the 'banned' section, noting that it was also issued with suffix plates until 1978.

Must be on retention, if not on original car and not SORN?
EDIT - but PH above says it's been spotted! Mayhaps 'tis being used for mischief now?

That's 60 LF as opposed to 6 OLF.

8 YE on a Polo. Thought it was more likely to be on the back of some hyper-car.

1 VW on a silver Scirocco. M62 towards Warrington. This was a while ago and is on a Touareg now I believe. No pic, apologies.

Thank you all, but rather curious as you say. I sold it, IIRC, for £4,500 and I see that Regtransfers have 42 AJB up for £11,250!

Ah, Steve Parrish's plate. I sold that one back in 1982 I seem to recall, along with PAR 5. I wonder what they are worth today?

Hilarious that DVLA actually issued this in 1962, yet 'banned' BOG, BUM and LAV, amongst others!

you may even mean mis-spacing. I'm not sure who Miss Spacing is - she seems very popular around here wink
