That's a normal Rallye (I hesitate to use word "standard") wearing aftermarket wheels. They came as standard with multi-spoke Sebrings as soon on early Corrados, with BBS RM split-rims being optional.

In Europe, you could also get the Rallye mechanicals (ie 160bhp supercharged engine and syncro 4x4) in a normal big-bumper Mk2 Golf shell as the Golf G60 Syncro. They are rare and visually hard to tell apart from a normal G60 Golf.

On the other hand, the very rare 210bhp Mk2 G60 Limited you are thinking of (of which without checking I think 71 were made) did come with BBS splitties but was otherwise very Q-car subtle - only available in 5 door form with a single headlamp grille, small bumpers and painted metallic black.

....and switch off "Golf geek" mode!

I see, thanks for that! What I spotted wasn't as rare as I had hoped, but I did suspect those wheels may not have been standard. I wasn't a fan of the 'slammed' look either, to be honest.

It seems odd, then, that the most special body was reserved for the Rallye, whilst the most special drivetrain featured in the Limited. It's a shame you couldn't combine the two!

Askmid brings up a Porsche 944!
I spotted that in Widnes last summer in the Hillcrest Hotel car park, I almost fell for it, it is a good replica!

Then this evening a stunning blue FF (sorry for awful pictures) at about 7:30pm coming past Hemel train station, anyone know anything about it? Plate was 3 OO

And then the rarest of them all: a stretched Ferrari 360 (only one in the UK) on the motorway last night

Didnt know you were there, Adam. I was there in the GS....parked miles away, literally, next to some sheep in a field!

Shame it lashed down. And it was Silverstone weekend. And Wimbledon finals day. Poor planning from FoC.

Broken down on the M1?

IIRC, didnt the owner get done and have to remove all the Ferrari badges, or something?

i thought that was a black or silver one.
it looks like when you're dragging a program window around and your computer freezes and it leaves a trail

Spotted this beautiful Mk2 Rallye Golf yesterday whilst out shopping. Certainly brightened up being dragged round Next! Could someone who knows more about Golfs than me please shed some light onto what it actually is? Is it a standard Rallye or one of the super-rare Limited models? Not sure how you differentiate between them! The reason I ask is because the wheels look more purposeful than I remember the Rallye coming with.

Should also be in the bad parking thread!

The new Jag F type in typical 'look at me!' disguise. Made a fantastic noise pulling away from the M40 island, sounded like a screaming V8 Ferrari engine inside. Are they putting V8's in F type?

3.0 Supercharged V6s or 5.0 NA V8 apparently.

Ha, really!? Funny.

Re the noise, my Bro was there (one of his mates had an entry in the concours) and he usually says mine is loud/nice... he made a point of saying mine sounded gash compared to the Ferrari's!

Infairness, there were some superd sounding cars. 355's for me....very special.
