It is, I think, a Cortina 2.0 GXL.
On the subject of decent Fords I have just had a brief trip down memory lane - got a lift from someone I know who was out in his newly restored pride & joy.
A white Ford Escort RS1600i.
No photo's yet - they are too come as I have asked him to sign up to PH & get them on here. Hopefully he will do that.

Three Mclaren MP4-12Cs in a convoy driving through Guildford this morning. One silver, one the metallic red and one in Mclaren orange.
Nice.

I've never really understood why these boys waste their time in Central London when seemingly limitless funds are available and the South of France and other lovely parts of Europe exist. Weather, food, roads and above all.. copious amounts of quality totty (female and male, whatever floats your gin palace) which Blighty sadly lacks as the nation packs on the lbs. That blue Bentley GTC by the way.. even Mansory must have shed a tear whilst hacking that thing to pieces. Yes Knightsbridge. Gulfbridge is what many call it now due to the number of brain cells they are missing. What was interesting that some of the restaurants/coffee shops have doubled there prices while they are visiting. EFA. I call custard test on the price increases, too. I can verify this you pleb Stop the personal insults and go ahead. Take your blinders off and look out the village Are you going to verify the claim or not?

A pair of Noble M400s on the A5 just outside Hinckley this afternoon. One blue, one orange.
Looked okay. But not spectacular.

House hunting in Miami this week - despite the rain there are plenty of cars to be admired. Sat in traffic behind an SLR Mclaren, then saw a couple of SLS AMGs..... I think my car mad son is going to like it here!

Mainly, the headlights. The Chevrolet have the basic light arrangement from many cars of that era whereas Pontiac opted for pop-up headlights. Then the roof I think is a T-Top, but I am happy to be corrected, hence the change in colour. Also, the back windown is slightly different and moving onto the rear the Chevrolet has a more rounded rear and the spoiler sticks further out, whereas the Pontiac has a more 'cut off' rear. Then lastly, the wheels are slightly different. My years living in Florida does have an advantage though. Sadly, I would provide pictures to illustrate the details I mention, but I am on a work PC so I doubt they would appreciate pictures of random cars inbetween files.

If you like the old Fords, there is an Old Fords day at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon in Warwickshire just off the M40 , this Sunday 22nd July, bound to be lots of these cars there, plus it is a Ford Transit Van weekend (both days). Gonna pop in for a look . . . . . see ya there.
