I moved from an E92 M3 to a C63 Estate and wont look back...
Sure its not as focused and on the track woudl show it, but when it comes to the real world, this car does everything to 11...
The straight line speed is as quick if not quicker than the RS6.
The RWD aspect makes it as fun as the M3 if not more so.
Then there's sound... im my opinion its far more exciting than even the italian exotics, its sooo dirty... (especially with High-Flow Cats smile )
These are going for as little as £35,000 now and with the way engines , emissions, turbos etc are going, when will you ever be able to say... "6.3L naturally aspirated again"... I dont think i will ever find a replacement...

Must admit, at £35k, that's one hell of a bargain for that kind of get up & go. I'd take one over an M3 anyday. I was at the Bull Ring in Brum a few weeks back, one of these was in the underground car park.....what a noise! I was thinking about that car all day.

I actually think Mercedes produce better cars than BMW these days; certainly better uber-Estates than their German counterparts.
Are there actually any other German uber estate rivals? There are minor league players like the Passat R36, BMW 335i Touring and Audi S4 Avant, but the C63 is a class above them. BMW have no plans for an M3 Touring, so unless Audi finally gets around to making a new RS4 Avant, the C63 basically has the class to itself.

I seriously don't understand why MB feel the need to make their cars so ugly nowadays.

I agree. The interior of my 3 Series is a bit Mk2 Golf for my liking. But then I turn a corner and remember why it is that I opted for the BMW.

Do the brakes come in grey?

"On the C63 there's also a newly styled bonnet, with an angular 'power' hump similar to the treatment of the C63 AMG's bonnet, where once were two bulbous, bulging lines."
From the two pictures the bonnet bulges look the same to me. In the C brochure the bonnet is flat in the C63 pictures. Interested as I have just placed an order for C63 estate with PPP. t

First off, I originally missed the word 'coupe' (bold) smile, so now that sentence makes a bit more sense.

Secondly, it is amazing that I have managed to make the bonnet humps look the same in the two pictures - but the older car definitely has bulges rather than creases. Never seen a C63 without some sort of bulgy bonnet, however... confused

It will depend on how much time you want to waste, but if you down load the latest e-brochure from here:

http://www.mercedes-benz.motortrak.com/new_digibro...

you will see the "flat bonneted" C63. I guess it was a pre-production photo, but like a misprinted stamp it will have some minor rarity value, perhaps.

Oh, it's a Friday afternoon - I want to waste as much time as possible wink

I've spoken to a chap I know at Mercedes and it seems that you are right, it's a pre-production photo - as the brochure was done before the final bonnet design was decided upon - I reckon they've gone the right way smile.
