New Porsche 911 Caught Naked
...and this one's not even a promo film.
The chap who captured this undisguised '991' 911 prototype on film in Stuttgart isn't going to win any awards for steady-handed camera work, but it is a great look at the upcoming car, looking more or less as it will when we see it at the Frankfurt show this September...
Apart from the slightly odd addition to the roof. (What is that...?)
Discussion
I like 911s. I admire too, the way they have stuck with the layout, and honed it till it is dammed near perfect.
Same thing with the shape. Why change something so classic? Even if they did, then you would just get people saying, doesn't look like a 911!
Not sure about that colour though.

Sorry, but it just doesn't do it for me. I still prefer the looks of the 964 & 993, from the 996 onwards, they look bloated in my opinion. No doubt a great car, but the rear end is too fat.
Thats true. While chomping on a big mac the other week a 993 parked outside the window and was replaced a few minutes later by a 997 which looked positively enormous in comparison.I think I'd rather spend the money on a very low mileage 993 turbo instead.
"It looks bloated compared to 993s" Welcome to all cars made in the last 10 years compared to their predecessors.
"It looks like the previous model" Welcome to every statement ever made about any new 911.
I think it looks good, but then I like the 997, not a fan of the 996 (although it looks identical right?). I keep debating getting a 993 due to the near non-depreciation they achieve now and they look nice, though I think a bit too small when I see them in real life, but then so do all mid 90's cars by todays standards. (see I think they look small, not modern cars looking bloated, move with the times people)
