I do like recent Mercedes design, this should be pretty cool except for the FWD bit, I may end up in the market for something this sort of size (if it is indeed 1 Series sized) once out of Uni, always have been a Merc man even though the current A Class isn't quite to my taste.

How many models of cars do we need from one manufacturer?
Whats wrong with it? I like the idea of there being lots of choice and variety! If companies only made a few different cars people would moan there is nothing to choose from! if you dont like it dont buy it

this. i find it hilarious when people moan about there being too many car models. i can't see the harm to be honest, if you don't like them, don't buy them. it gives a larger choice for car buyers. i can't ever see that being a bad thing to be honest.

Why single out Mercedes for that. BMW and Audi are guilty of exactly the same thing.
I singled out Mercedes because the car in the article is a Mercedes. I'm in complete agreement with you that the others followed suit. MB started it though.

I just don't see why these niche cars sell (and sell well), who needs them? Marketing is doing wonders nowadays.

Well I like it. And I could afford one, so there must be others out there...

I see it as an alternative to an Audi A7. Kind of a modern day Rover SD1. Big, fast, comfy, with a hatchback when you need it.

I genuinely hate MB for cars like these.

Creating hideous, pointless cars for niches that noone asked for.

Yeah, so I suppose we should expect a BMW and Audi version someday soon.

another person who moans because there are too many cars to pick one. jeez, if you don't like it, don't buy it. cars are a personal thing and if this car doesn't seem "logical" or you don't "need" one, doesn't mean some people won't buy them. some people buy cars purely because they like them, you know. not just because it's logical or not.
