Well lets see here.
You're most likely white, which means you must have a small penis and enjoy fiddling with choir boys.
Me, I'm merely commenting on a yoof culture based around bling and music with heavy base.
Silly chap.

When have you ever heard of anyone involved with rap or hip hop music involved in a drive by shooting?
These artists are not gangsters. If they were they would be behind bars.
In my opinion it was a comment on race.
Indeed it is your opinion and it is one that says more about you. Don't bring me into your world. These artists are not gangsters. If they were they would be behind bars.
In my opinion it was a comment on race.

Meh. Seemed to work well enough for Range Rover when they got Victoria Beckham in the same role. Who knows, Lotus may become the new Bentley by featuring in every new rap video from now on.
I'm sure Colin Chapman would have approved
Victoria Beckham might work because a significant amount of Evoques will be bought by of heavily influenced by women.I'm sure Colin Chapman would have approved
I suspect Mr Swizz Beatz is being employed not for his design talent or as a personal recomendation. What I suspect they have him in for is for his address book.
I noticed a Lotus Evora in an advert for trainers last week I suspect this may have had something to do with it.
All the misguided comments are simply made by people with very little exposure to what they are commenting on. The only snippets that make it through to people who are not interested/paying attention are, on the whole, going to be very negative. Negative things are remembered in this day and age. The simple fact is there are too many genuine thugs/criminals masquerading as "artists" that are being sold as such. Mix in a large number of "artists" who invent characters from themselves with tales of committing various crimes and being drug king-pins and the media laps it up as it's sensational, very sad.
Someone getting shot, dealing drugs, spending the majority of their day in a Phantom on gigantic rims stuff full of bikini-clad women are what most people will think when the subject of hip hop/rap pops up, as we've seen on here. The funny thing is, of all the current crop of artists Swizz is the most non-aggressive, inoffensive artists there is. Amy Winehouse had more form than Swizz for god's sake.
Now when your man in the street sees someone like Gucci Mane, a fairly talentless thug and self-proclaimed drug dealer who is the personification of everything wrong in hip hop and life in general, someone who fits the term "tool" very well with an icecream cone tattooed on his mug to tone done those ravishing good looks, I'll readily agree this is absolute rubbish.
Hip hop was all about lyrical battles between two emcees with DJ on the decks playing beats and getting the crowd pumped up. A Tribe Called Quest, Jeru tha Damaja, Pete Rock & C.L Smooth, Gangstarr and a whole host of others (pre bling era) are what hip hop is all about IMO. Fun, quick witted, conscious storytelling lyricists combined with great production and sprinkled with just enough swagger to let everyone know you mean business are vital ingredients to classic tracks. Now we have disposable music churned out every other week talking about the same stuff over and over again. Very tiring indeed.
For the old timers and the one that aren't "with it" and have absolutely no intention of being with it... let's make it simple. There are some terrible elements in hip hop, think of them as hip hop's Ant & Dec or Mr Blobby, just with often embellished tales guns and drugs. Anyone that knows the music sits and shakes their head and knows it's crap but somehow enough people buy into it and so they keep coming back to sup from the teat of the ignorant consumer.
As Chris Rock once said "I am tired of defending hip hop", the stuff being peddled these days makes it very difficult to do so, with any luck it will die off soon enough, hopefully.
GOOD Hip Hop. Timeless
BAD Hip Hop: Words fail me.
Back on topic. Bar his industry-wide connections, Swizz is still a very odd choice for Lotus but it could be an interesting gamble. It's already grabbed a hell of a lot of attention and that in itself is priceless. If his name helps Lotus with their plans by bringing their cars to a wider audience however, more power to all involved.

Do look at my previous postings on this thread to have a more clear view of my opinion on this little subject though.
It fits with the rest of lotus' hair brained marketing strategy though. Like posting this video of an evora understeering at a crowd on their official site.

I wonder what Lotus will think of this good P.R.

With this Mr Beatz bloke and Gordon Murray on board, one can only imagine the boardroom discussions...
Murray's articles in the past don't suggest to me that he has a strong instinct for compromise when he thinks someone is wrong...Coming to blows in the boardroom over slammed on 22s versus optimised for ride and handling
