Bit of Pub knowledge and facts coming out there on the oil consumption. The RX8 Renesis engine oil consumption is on par with Vag diseasels now.
good choice on a Drive in scream out WGT conversion.
Still not as good as the virtually no oil either of my MX-5s (a MK1 GReddy Turbo and a MK2.5 SV-T) used. The oil consumption is only following Mazda's own recommendations, but the killer is the mpg and the accompanying emissions and road tax. good choice on a Drive in scream out WGT conversion.

Oh dear, every time... Did your mate down the pub use to have one that needed an engine rebuild every 10K too?
From what some MX5 drivers report, I can't see a turbo engined MX-8 being any cheaper on fuel than an RX8 and the engine's still going to be higher and further forward than the rotary.
Interesting idea though...

No the reliability isn't such an issue, but my Tubby MX-5 (200+ hp) was very frugal off boost which was the majority of normal driving, don't mind burning petrol when having fun, but commuting across town isn't much fun and even less at low 20 mpg, plus I wasn't royally fleeced by HMG for the pleasure either. From what some MX5 drivers report, I can't see a turbo engined MX-8 being any cheaper on fuel than an RX8 and the engine's still going to be higher and further forward than the rotary.

For such a rarified beast, and wanting top dollar -
sort the fecking headlight / barndoor panel gap out !
Bad.
That gap at the back of the headlamp pod could be deliberate. For such a rarified beast, and wanting top dollar -

Often the air filter on a Turbo MX-5 is placed directly behind the lamp & this simple mod brings in extra cool air. It works.
Here are 4 cars

Well I know who bought the one that was advertised on PH so I've seen it. It is a bit of a Marmite car, you either love it or you hate it, but he enjoys the attention it gets and the fact that he can park it next to my RS but still have something rarer (swine!).
I'm chuffed to bits on his behalf that he's now managed to find something he's always wanted, but equally gutted that he had to sell his FM2 Turbo to get it. That was the best Mk 1 I've ever seen, or am ever likely to see.

I do miss my FM2, but love the Le Mans, 150 bhp is much more civilized and safe for my licence, and 250 bhp was insane, but fun.I'm chuffed to bits on his behalf that he's now managed to find something he's always wanted, but equally gutted that he had to sell his FM2 Turbo to get it. Evangelion your RS is cool, and with those seats.

Cracking car - our old 93 mk1 se still stands as one of the best cars we've owned.
What's more - I remember sue from those days - she's an amazing lady with a endless zest for life. Shame to hear she's selling it - guess more queen bee's will be on her drive soon!
I thought it might be Sue's. I hope she hasn't sold the S2000 as well What's more - I remember sue from those days - she's an amazing lady with a endless zest for life. Shame to hear she's selling it - guess more queen bee's will be on her drive soon!

I've never understood why they haven't done an RX-5.
Mazda used to make an Rx-5, but it was a totally different kind of vehicle:http://mrec.rotary.net.nz/brochures/rx5/rx5d.jpg
There are various rotary Mx-5's knocking around in the UK at the moment. Best one I have seen so far is a 13B-REW powered (3rd Gen Rx7 engine) version, although the Renisis version looks interesting. (I recall a german guy fitting a renisis into the 3rd Gen Mx5 recently)

275 bhp - no wonder one overtook me on a track day I was in a porsche)
Silverstone? I had a great tussle with two 996's shortly before I took mine off the road for a rebuild. It was running about 265bhp/230lbs and weighing 960kg. To be honest wish I hadn't bothered rebuilding for more power when it was perfectly adequate as it was.
