Thanks alot for helping me understand it. I couldn't put my finger on it or put it into words. You have just nailed it!

The amazing ride quality whilst remaining sharp and precise and FUN was something I wan't expecting. The F430's ride is so 'grown up' and composed. Not crashy at all.

You will love it.

ALOT stronger and MUCH better built than I was expecting as well!

I would love a 16M. Sadly alot more money though!

Mines been faultless apart from exhaust manifolds cracking.... apparently this is very common. It didn't cost me anything (warrenty job) but its not something I am impressed to know happens to them all!
If you go to Fchat I think there is a manifold fix in that you fit part of the Capristo system and never have any more problems. Apparently ... but ive not looked into it too deeply. There have been a few occasionns of flakes of catalyst getting into the engine though so its something that's well worth looking into IMO.

I drove an R8 round Prodrive in Kenilworth. It was bloody quick. Not 'throw you back into your seat' but still fast. It was so easy to drive and that's what's good about that car. Great daily driver with comfort and power. However I did drive a 458 before that which probably affected it wink

If you wanted an 'oh st I'm going to die' experience, you should have drove the Atom.

Felt exactly the same when I drove the Ferrari F430 on a track.... Ok, i didnt have enough time to really 'get to know' the car, but I really wasnt left feeling like i had just driven a proper 'ferrari' Im pretty sure i would have had much more fun in a manual F355. I guess this is why I prefer older cars. For me, automation/computers etc seem to have taken the 'fun' away.... I can honestly say I got much, much more of a kick out of my bike powered fury than the F430.

Can I suggest you buy a bike?...

A CBR1000RR or a BMW S1000RR should do the trick...

As others have said, with newer cars having so much electrics looking after you, being so well cosseted etc, it's very hard to get full on exhilaration from a car these days. The best grin factor I've had recently is from the likes of an Atom (which I owned), a ride in Caterham R500 where I cacked myself & lastly a ride in an Ultima. You need to go back to "raw" cars, ideally open top with no screen wink

You could but I stopped riding bikes 5 years ago. wink Ihave fond memories of being scared witless on a GSX-1100EFE. Thing is the bike was stationary and a blip of the throttle was enough to know I'd be dead within two corners if I bought it.
My last bike is in my profile.

Nope the Gallardo was missing the fun and the grin factor that's all. Good car just not great nor special nor memorable.

I'd imagine that is memorable!

Thanks. Would void my Factory warrenty though I presume?

Also having just been out in a £200k Aston Martin DBS, I'd rather spend my money on a V8 Vantage for £40-£50k and get a similar look/effect for a lot less money.
If what you want is the look then you may be right, the V8 Vantage and DBS have a family resemblance. But they are a very different drive.
