^^ What he said ^^

Does anyone ever watch that 'Chasing classic cars' on Discovery?? I'm not really into the older cars, but I do appreciate the beauty in these machines, and find that programme quite entertaining, especially to see what sort of prices he gets for the cars he has.

this was a week before our honeymoon in that area 2 years bac. We would have loved to go...

Thankfully the polishing bit has calmed down a bit these days. Back in the late 80s/early 90s, they could do anythign to the cars as long as it was clean. So you had 30s Alfas with snakeskin upholstry but not a spot of dust anywhere. I mean anywhere. The judges used to use a modified broomstick handle to check for soot in the exhaust pipe...

Terrific writing,

Love the quote:

"The calibre of chino and dainty loafer is high. The average age of wife is 30% lower than husband. And if not, considerable facial restoration has taken place."

If you are not familiar with Vosin, they are well worth reading up on. Fantastic advanced engineering and 1930's streamlinging at its best.

A fool and his money are easily parted!... (I would be skint in a few seconds!..)
Why can't modern car makers take some styling cues from these beautiful machines?yes

That Model40 caught my eye. I'm practically bored of the 250GTO at this point; Octane have spent too many issues going on about it*

  • this opinion may change when I become a wealthier individual

You'd think that Heads of State would be afraid to purchase an open top car (Merc 600) after what happened to JFK only several years earlier!!shoot

This event looks amazing to go to.

I watch Chasing Classic Cars on Discovery Turbo, and a few of that guy's cars have been taken to this.

Serious money! Serious cars!
