RE: PH Heroes: Lamborghini Miura
Discussion
this feature has made my day,i worked on this very car 25 years ago,i thought it was the same car but couldnt be sure, there cant be many this colour, but i remember at the time i was told that it used to belong to twiggy,i worked as a saturday lad at a garage that specialised in e-type restoration,it was the late eighties and there was a classic car boom on at the time, this car stopped me dead in my tracks(i was 15)it was having an oil change and some electrical gremlins sorted, thanks lads.
My all time favourite car.
Why, in 1974 my father was able to borrow one from a pilot friend of his for the day as well as that I had previously had a 30 minute trip across town with the pilot driving it very fast. He also had an Espada that I had a brief spin, both drives will stay with me for ever!

Always thought they slightly copied the profile of the car that stuffed Ferrari big time, just to rub it in. Can't blame them for that, and they did make it more sensual.
Saw a light Blue Miura driving up Tower Bridge Road in about 1971, brother said it was Rod Stewart?

Would have been Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath, he had a RHD Miura SV in duck egg blue...Can't blame them for that, and they did make it more sensual.

When I was in Rome in April, I was lucky enough to come across a Lamborghini display near the Spanish steps. It was in order to promote the Aventador but to me this was the star. I took some pics of the Aventador too but you don't want to see them do you!
This car is the factories own Miura SV and has very little milage on it as you can imagine.
The dispay was cordoned off with ropes so it was tricky to get the whole car in without them interfering in the picture. There was also a very polite young Brit giving the elegant lady a quick buff to get the dust off.
Joy!

Good clip. The man is a legend, mainly for his car enthusiasm.http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/at-the-garage/super-...

Hard to believe that 30 odd years ago, if these things had a major problem ie a blown engine they would be a write off. Hence he picked his up for free!!

Indeed. I saw it when it was for sale at Oakfields a few years back and with hindsight wished I'd bought it - £200k!! See link belowhttp://www.classicdriver.de/uk/find/4100_dealers_r...

yes that's on the Sporting Bears static stand at the NEC along with the lovely orange Westfield XI
behind the static stand it's even better with Sporting Bears Dream Rides taking passengers on 10 mile rides outside the NEC complex
it includes many and various vehicles including JHW Classic's XJ220
and Harsh now gets their cars for his Petrolhead Nirvana events too
I presume this the XJ220 you're referring too behind the static stand it's even better with Sporting Bears Dream Rides taking passengers on 10 mile rides outside the NEC complex

I'm going to the NEC this year didn't get a chance to do a ride along last year so hopefully will this year
just one of the many and varied cars on offer with Sporting Bears Dream Rides

I think we all wish we had invested in the right type of cars a year or so ago looking at the values now (it won't last)http://www.classicdriver.de/uk/find/4100_dealers_r...

So painfully pritty. I will never understand why people prefer the e type jag.
They don't. They just think they do! Back in late 70s or early 80s I used to see an ad in (probably) Motor Sport for Rod Stewart's Miura. I thought it was lime green but my memory may be failing me.
I have to correct myself on a number of points!

I love the bit about heel marks in the headlining.
