The lovely lady opening the back of the Lambo was also driving the XJ220. Come along November 11-13 if you fancy a ride in something special for the price of a curry night out.

Just been looking at a meticulously restored lime green miura - my first time up close to one and it is a truly beautiful car; full headlight eyelashes and all, just an amazing piece of design!

The Shah of Iran had a Miura, a P400S in red with gold wheels. After the Iranian revolution is was put up for auction by the new regime (I think the Ayatollah Homeini found it a bit tail happy in the wet) and it is now owned by Nicholas Cage. It only has about 2000 miles on the clock.

I thought Nick had sold it? Wikipedia says: One of these cars, chassis #4934,[6] was built for the Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The Shah stored this car under armed guard with another SV in Royal Palace in Tehran. After he fled the country during the Iranian Revolution, his cars were seized by the Iranian government. The SV/J was sold into Dubai in 1995. In 1997 this car was sold via a Brooks auction to Nicolas Cage, at US$490,000, becoming the model's highest ever price sold in an auction.[7] Cage sold the car in 2002.

It only has about 2000 miles on the clock. Almost. The Shah of Persia (Iran) actually had two Muira’s, both 1971 cars, one a SV and the one you mention was actually a very rare SVJ. The car you mentioned being owned by Nicolas Cage, chassis #4934 (he bought it at auction in 1997 but sold it in 2002) was a burgundy red colour with white interior and silver wheels, and was one of the first cars to go back to the factory for a ‘works service’ after the factory restoration facility was opened there. I believe the car now lives in the UK. This is the car. The other Shah car was a 1971 SV, chassis #4870, was a dark blue car, and was imported into Italy in 1991, after being ‘rescued’ from Iran. This is the other ex-Shah car.

I bow to your superior knowledge.
Nick Cage certainly went up in my estimations when he bought it, and down again now he's sold it.
Why would you sell a car like that. He can't need the money, surely? Given that the Miura is the best car in the history of the planet, he's not going to buy something better.
I can understand why the Islamic Republic of Iran wanted shot of it..beauty, enjoyment, excitement, desirability and passion...all the things god would disapprove of if he existed.

Well I'm afraid he did. Nick Cage was recently on the verge of bankruptcy and was having to be bailed out by his rich mates. He had to sell most of his car collection to help pay his bills.
