'FULLRUN' Tyres, nice!
Good spot! That is very disappointing.Mind you it's not the first time I've found this dealer to be over priced and have heard of one or two comments about the actual condition of their stock. Photo's are all very well, but a detailed inspection a must at the prices asked, all imo of course.

1990 retro?
Am I the only one on here over 25?
Actually, don't answer that.
Ha ha, I sometimes think the same. I'm 'only' 30 but I remember cars like this when they were new. It's hard to think of them as retro or classic but they're all 20+ years old and therefore the ones still going are almost certainly in the hands of enthusiasts.Am I the only one on here over 25?

Well tell them to eff off. Why should you be ashamed to talk about cars with engines bigger than a 2.0. Unless you live in a village surrounded by tree huggers.

How long before such cars are made illegal?
Speak to the regular person on the street and mention that you have an engine >2.0 litres and they'll have you down as an oil spilling, seal clubbing, bunny killing environment hater.

Tell them you need a big powerful car to tow your horse box when you go fox-hunting.When they realise you need one they should calm down a bit
Imagine if BMW had mass produced this engine......
and if ALPINA had got hold of it!

The Lister XJS was always a childhood poster favourite of mine, and was the highlight of my childhood visit to the NEC around the end of the 80's .... At that time the "normal" Athena choices like the 959, Countach, or even the F40 were much less "interesting" than the Lister .... This car is scarily affordable!!!

It was always the LeMans style car that I preferred, with the bonnet which reached flush to the bumper, even though a quick google through the pictures all these years later does make the car look a little dated, and not dissimilar to something that Burt Reynolds and Sally Field might drift around in.

Good stuff, never knew that it existed. It must have been a peach of a engine. and if ALPINA had got hold of it!

Running cheap tyres makes you question whether it's been run on a budget but I do love a good old 7 series.
I hate viewing cars advertised by dealers that will only want to talk about the number of mm tread a tyre has, or maybe the amount of slime they have smeared all over them, in the context of tyres, and seem to go blank if you try to steer the conversation to performance or brand.
