Off topic but well worth bumping the tread. I noticed a couple of Escorts being driven poorly the other day so put a post on Facebook asking if any had gone missing recently. My mate who is a Cambridgeshire Police officer noticed the post and popped round as he was off duty. Another Escort went past and he followed it to a lock up near Wisbech docks where four Escorts and two Sierra RS's were being chopped up. A dawn raid later and five of the cars were recovered in one piece, four arrests and a chop shop has been shut down.

If they weren't being driven so badly I would not have noticed and five people would have lost their pride and joys.

Keep them peeled guys. smile

Very well done Sir! These sort of toe rags should have no hiding place and you have served your community well with this. That is a result to be very proud of indeed. I hate car thieves having lost many cars years ago when security was not as it now has become. At that time any slightly different of modffied cars were very high risk. The immobiliser substantially changed that game. Regrettably it seems the thieves are keeping up with technology and high end cars are now at risk. Pity because life is much better when you have no real concerns that your pride and joy might go missing. Well done again.

No Dutton Sierra ever looked like the basis of a low riding sports car nor could it be, simple strait forward cloning and I would avoid such cars at all cost. There is no way this car could be IVA'd at economic costs and it is not what it purports to be. A lot of this going on sadly. Kit car buyers need to be very careful because of cars like this about.

On the far right, just below the People who viewed this item also viewed ribbon.

However, this particular auction is legit, is it not?

I'd say it's on the edge, but not worth reporting. Thanks for the info.

That is my reading of the advert. As far as I can see this is effectively selling the identity. Not good.

The one I linked to is selling an intact chassis with the V5 from a tax exempt Landy - it would be hard to prove that the chassis and V5 don't match and (if they don't which they may) and the fact that any resulting vehicle will probably have an assumed identity based on just a chassis with the various implications can't really be judged at this point. On the basis that eBay seems to think motorbike frames with a V5 are OK, I doubt they'll care about this one.

The other "Landy" is very clearly just a v5 for sale.

Fair enough. I agree there is a possibility in this case, that there is a genuine sale involved. Regrettably if the actual chassis and the actual log book are from different vehicles then there is at best a marriage of convenience. But I do agree in this case EBay are unlikely to take any action because it could be genuine.

Not sure of this one has been spotted before but item 131304505731 is for a v5 with the remains of the chassis swept into a bag!

I've reported it but I'm sure a couple more reports couldn't hurt!

Another one that Ebay don't seem too fussed about:
