Indeed, here comes another kit car where the only connections with the Dutton are the VIN plate and the Registration. Very likely to be picked up by the MOT requirements and the DVLA. Best avoided. Well spotted. I have reported it.

There are sadly a fair few about and likely to be more as this is the cheapest route to avoid IVA. Every chance it will be picked up if it returns to the UK. I see a fair few of these each year through kit car contacts in the Midlands. Sadly some owners seem unable or unwilling to see that the process is inappropriate. They are getting picked up but it would be a pity if an unsuspecting owner buys in good faith and then has the catastrophic discovery. Kit car buyers nowadays need to be aware that such cars are about as this post demonstrates. Best avoided.

I think that's the one we reported about a hundred times when it was for sale over here. Nice to see but how difficult would it be to sell in German, import back to the UK and register again? rolleyes

officially for germany its a NO-Go...but there are certain dealers on the market, spezialized into kitcar-registrations which do everything for money...they work togehter with a "willing to close both eyes" TÜV-tester...and 2-3000 euro later the car is registered as dutton.

this works as long as nobody recognizes (e.g. traffic police or during the 2 years MOT (tüv) test) that the car isnt a dutton...

Indeed the car trade has always had its dishonest members. I do think that the DVLA will continue to pressurise MOT garages to be particularly careful with kit car testing. I have seen a number which have failed this year because the registration clearly has no connection with the actualmcarfferred for test. In time I hope the DVLA will pick up on the criminals who are actually making money out of such dishonestly. However I am not holding my breath.

Bad news for honest car enthusiasts all over the UK. EBay clearly need to improve their fraud procedures. Unsurprisingly I am not holding my breath. Ebay ought not to tolerate such blatant dishonestly. Poor show indeed.

I guess this isn't enough chassis to make this transaction legitimate?
