In two words a Dead Duck. Best avoided as ever. Getting such a car properly registered is very difficult indeed. No doubt it will come around again on the Internet.

My eBay message said:
Good evening you're curious about what your VIN number means.

G means the car is an MG
H means it's a B-Series 1.8
D means it a GT body type
5 means it's a MkIII made between 1970 and 1979
There should be a "R" for right hand drive and "C" for 1972 but as it isn't the original VIN plate or chassis those are missing.

As the car has been off the road since the M.O.T expired June 2010 either the kit car was not registered properly when it was made or it is a pre-built kit car with the MGB VIN tag. Either way it will need an SVA and probably "Q" plates before it can go on the road without proof the kit was built before the changes to the IVA/SVA were made and it is a single donor vehicle (full photo build and supporting documents from the donor vehicle).

Good luck with the sale LK
hehe

So if the reg GYR 728J reappears on a car, hopefully a buyer might Google the reg first, if it doesn't pick it up with the space, GYR728J.

The one above the same, MRU 360F or MRU360F

Another one, where ringing is the only real objective. Nowhere near sufficient of the original car to avoid IVA with all the on costs. I would hope it fails to sell. No legitimate value for registration purposes IMO.

This car has had a full a45 conversion, on log book it shows a180, cheaper on insurance

Oh! Dearie me! Absolutely stupid approach. There really are some strange approaches to motoring. Uninsured and in all probability uninsurable with those changes undeclared. Raises a whole bag of questions.

I have a feeling that AEO 759C isn't the MkI 848cc Mini it's registered as. It could be a heritage build based on the wrong (Mk4) shell or less legitimate. Either way it should be on a Q plate.
