Indeed. Sadly there is a lot of this about and threads like this help to expose the extent of such dishonesty. Considerable care is needed in buying older cars nowadays. All to easy to be ripped off! Caveat Emptor is the buyers Bible!
When 15k buys a nice original Focus RS, the RS Turbo has to be worth about 50p and a Twix. Rusty stboxes, rough old CVH and true dire tinny 1980's Ford build quality. I had an RS1600i 27 years ago and whilst was fun, it was a pile of st really.

The ride quality on xr3 derivatives was absolutely bad. I bought one in '83 after owning mk1 and mk2 escorts and they were sore on the bones to be sure. I snubbed a 3k minted RS 2000 for a 4k xr3. The steering was heavy, the ignition system failed and the whole experience was grim. But, they are Fords and folks like em. My next purchase was an Astra GTE in 1984 and it was a peach of a car in comparison.

I really do hope that anyone who looks at this actually realises the car is not correctly registered for road use. That car requires IVA I suspect. Pity is that the mods look ok on the face of it? But the complete chassis change means that registration in that form is required and good luck to anyone who tries to get that on a Dutton! Best avoided unless you like hopless cases frown

"This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing."

The error was in calling it a Dutton! It's a Fisher Fury (nothing wrong with that) with a few Dutton Phaeton body panels, masquerading as a Q reg Dutton.

Indeed! I think it is a tryon. Several such kit cars running as supposed Duttons have been around the Internet selling game. Yet to see one actuall sell, they are invariably pulled well before the end because too many questions on the validity of the car OTR demonstrate the buyers are aware that it is a tryon.

Good to see threads such as this warning the buyers.

That car has no real value OTR because getting through IVA would be almost impossible. Certainly uneconomic!

I do agree with you the Fisher Fury is an excellent sports car. Pity that is not the case on this car!

This...

...has the potential to be a truly great little car and ideal project for a Mini enthusiast.

So what's wrong with it?

Another Mini...

...1969 "Cooper" reshelled in 1975 apparently.

Funny MkIV Mini's weren't available until 1976 and shells wouldn't be for a few years after that.

Looks okay to me. The shell is a 1973 - 1976 Mark 3 (rod change tunnel and older four bolt front subframe) and a lot of the bits are from the original car. The story adds up, basically.
