There are more and more of these about currently it rather does seem. From the growth of this fiddle it woud appear that the DVLA et all are not very effective in stopping such tryon's. Pity is that entirely unsuspecting enthusiasts are going to get caught out and lose a lot of money. Best avoided and in conseqence, I have long since abandoned buying unseen kit cars. Provenance and impeccable paperwork are the bastions of defence. Forewarned is forearmed. Please keep it i up!!

The trouble is that most people won't know what a Tripper is and could get caught out at MOT time or DVLA clampdowns.

Don't think so. Identity goes with the chassis or monocoque.

OTOH - he's breaking other ebay rules with that listing.

Pity is there are so many about now. Duttons and similar kit car swopped identities being used to avoid IVA, is definitely a growth business. Buyers need to be very aware of these nonsenses which should always be avoided. Serious examination of all the paperwork, all the supporting evidence of dated phtogrphs etc and the reality of the provenance and history of all classic cars, and kit cars on sale, nowadays, is essential to avoiding such disasters.

If a car and its hhistory, do not seem totally correct, look elsewhere. The only way, nowadays.

Unbent 09 GTRs sell for the high end of 30k for a ropey one.

Shell is of no real use as it's a cat B with no paperwork anyway.

This thread has been going for five years today.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread. Those who agree and actively take part in the searching and reporting process. Even those who don't agree; because every troll post bumps the thread to the top of the page and more people view it as a result.

I'd like to thank everyone at eBay and other sites who take our reports seriously and remove the items before they can do any harm.

Also thank you to the Pistonheads admin for keeping this thread alive.

Remember every listing eBay remove as a result of our efforts stops someone having their pride and joy taken from them or someone else being ripped off in the future.

Keep up the good work guys and thank you again. smile

All the best Rob (aka Liquid Knight)
