Really, given the price of 2-door Escorts now, that's probably worth repairing, if you can get/fabricate the panels.

When that car is restored, Only original bit will a 3" rectangle plate from the slam panel.

You can buy new Mk2 shells, Either that or someone will be missing an Escort soon.

Hold up, was there ever a Dutton that'd take a Jag straight six? Smells doubly fishy to me.

Fifth time that one has been up. eBay remove it and it's relisted the same day. It makes you wonder what kind of recruitment process they have. silly

Q plated so could be a Dutton & that capacity could be over sized Rover V8. But naughty that it is just a V5C

Mmm, it just happens to be precisely the same size as a Jag straight six, which makes me more inclined to believe it's that than something else.

Without any reference, description or any detail whatsoever, relating to an actual vehicle, this suggests to me that itus simply an attempt to sell a V5 to be used on another vehicle entirely. Bad news! Well spotted!

Oh, it's dodgy alright.

More I was thinking that the engine seems very likely to be a Jag 4.2, and I can't think of a Dutton that would be fitted with one, so perhaps this is its second go on the "using a Dutton reg to legitamise a non-IVA'd kit" merry go round.

Are these worth stealing if they cost £150 to ring?

Vague description.

A good 70's Honda Monkey bike can be worth as much as £5,000
On that's a few years old up to £2,000

There is the problem. Unscrupulous toe rags can make good money from such dishonesty. Hence the steady growth!

Caveat Emptor was never more essential in buying cars and motorcycles.

Extreme Care and thorough Investigation is essential.

Definitely not what it seems!

I find somewhat surprising that such clearly misleading adverts attract the unwary.

They obviously do! Avoid like the plague!!

£1400 seems a bit pricey, are people really prepared to pay that? His other item is the rolling chassis.

If I were a police officer investigating car theft it would not be difficult to find stolen cars!

Just scour previous ebay ads for V5's & Chassis plates, check what has since had a recent MOT turn up to the latest registered address & find yourself a ringer.

It would not be difficult would it?

You'd catch a lot of rung motors for sure but not all stolen, most are just a way of easy reging a kit car, another large lump of regs are used to avoid road fund payments, then there are the upping the spec, 1300L 2 door escorts becoming an RS2000 ect ect, i would say a miinoraty are to ring stolen vehicals nowdays, still too many but not as many as people think.
