I wondered how you got the full registration number and then I released that he left one uncovered!

Famous Morris Minor van stolen over the weekend.

The family are so heart broken they have launched a Facebook page to try and find it.

I know this thread hasn't had any trolls lately but...

This is why we are doing this.

WILL IT BE REBUILT?, UNLIKELY IF HE'S WILLING TO POST THE PAPERWORK;

KFM 669J

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mk1-escort-1971-tax-exem...

"Just to clear a couple of things..

I do still have the shell. The vin plate is still on the inner wing but not much left of it. The car is on sorn. If you don't want to collect I will send by registered post ;-) "

BELGIAN MGB DOCS:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MGB-GT-1967-belgian-titl...

"this is an ad for a belgian title/logbook for a 1967 MGB GT, contains official belgian registration document, invoice to seller and original chassis number plaque, chassis number starts with GHD3L99XXX
With these documents the car can be imported in the UK and given a UK V5C.
What you see in the ad is what you get plus an invoice confirming the sale.
Everything will be sent through tracked post."

Perfectly legit - there is a shell to go with it, should the buyer want it.

AND WHY DO YOU WRITE EVERY POST IN CAPITAL fkING LETTERS?

All caps rage? I think it was a thing in 2003 wink

Anyway the option is there for a shell or a ringing kit. Neither are enough for the DVLA points scheme so the identity will be lost or used unlawfully.

The option is there to paint it pink and use it as a rockery. That's not illegal either.

I've asked some of the sellers about the 'vehicles' or lack of them - the answer being "you can use the document to register a car built with a Heritage shell". Is this the case? My thought is that DVLA would need the evidence of the identity of the vehicle that the components have come from. Maybe I'm wrong.

Pretty much as I suspected then - They need to see the vehicle and evidence. I guess to someone prepared to use a purchased v%, they'll 'make' the chassis plates etc - but DVLA have ways of detection I'm sure.

No they don't.

You can build a car from a V5, a shell, various bits, MOT it and DVLA are none the wiser. Nor do they care much. My Cooper S was built that way. I didn't care. Anyone who does needs to get out more.

I do however have a problem with stolen cars being rung. But the upsurge in the market for AVO logbooks is more to do with the amount of solid Mark 1 Escort shells coming in from Malta etc - bare shell rebuilds of AVO cars need valid V5's. Fine by me, and realists as opposed to romantic dreamers will know that due to the nature of the beast, most 'originals' have a very chequered past..........and anyone who knows these cars knows full well that they're buying a Trigger's broom. Hasn't affected the ever rising prices!
