RE: Driven: The Last-Ever TVR Griffith
Discussion
Am I alone in really not liking the looks of the Griffith? Should I get my coat?
I absolutely love the Chimaera (and currently well advanced with my research regarding the purchase of one in the new year!), love the Cerbera too, heck I even love the looks of most of their 80's offerings! I just cannot 'get' the Griffith aesthetically... I do very much 'get' the noise however

What a great article, pleased to see the griffith getting the recognition it deserves. I'm now on my third, and am still in love with the sound and looks of what must be one of the greatest British sportscars of all time.
My latest griffith, on an 03 plate!
Is that near cortez de Baza and Caramaiza up from the big lake?My latest griffith, on an 03 plate!
I had a 1996 Griff in Rosso pearl and grey interior ( P6 TVR) and loved it. Traded it for a speed six Cerb. The I raced a black Griff 500 for a year in the TVR series until upgrading to a Tuscan. I love the car. Its an all time classic and very pure in its ethos, deign and exectuion.
Having just bought a mint late 4.2 Cerbera I would like a late Griff to sit next to it in the garage for the sunny days. I personaly prefer the non SE/LE ones with the standard lights, seats and wheels, so will be looking for a late low mileage one of them next year.
If you havent driven one then I would urge you to, they're great.

My old 95 griff was A6 TVR and it was starmist red. Had a 99 griff T11VER. Two Chimaeras which were great but not as special as the griffs. Had two Cerbera's one a 4.5 and the other a 4.7 special R200 HOT and now have Tuscan 2 S. They are all great in different ways.Having just bought a mint late 4.2 Cerbera I would like a late Griff to sit next to it in the garage for the sunny days. Love every visit to Fenhurst. They have had this Griff for a while and you will not see it in their listings. Drew tells me he never wants to sell it. As long as it gets a drive though.
Agree with the view that driving needs to be fun and with focus and thought required. The new hyper-cars such as the fine new McLaren are fantastic feets of science, but I think take some of the fun away from more raw motoring.

Well then, for the last couple of months I had been deliberating as to what my first fun weekend-car was going to be, and eventually settled on an Elise SC, and as of Sunday last week, that was pretty much settled!
For some reason, that evening of the same Sunday, I found myself somehow contemplating a TVR, and all that goes with ownership! The following day I found myself test-driving a few. Guess what? . . . next day I returned and placed a deposit! She (or is it a he?!) should be with me in a week or so, and I can't wait.
Funny old world!
