Runs too hot with the plate on in summer, so it sits on the dash top.

Not sure how I missed this thread three yes ago...esp with a Podie tvr piss taking opportunity!

Sutters immortal line is still the only thing that needs to be said about the Griff over 20yrs on...

...so close to greatness it hurts.

You think they made grown men weak at the knees in the early 90s, just think what it did to a 15yr old boy playing football just round the corner of the factory!

Took me 12 yrs but I got one.
The greatest compliment I can give to my new 55 is that it feels like a grown up Griff.

Missed this thread too - I bought Mrs E24man a Chianti Starmist 1993 Griffith 500 back in 2001 and we kept until 2008 when we two became three - we miss it still.

The lack of Factory development is very irritating at times as the Griff could and should have been So much better. The first owner of my one paid £39,850 odd in early 1998, a lot of money back then.

The chassis isn't stiff enough, the lack of room for for your left foot, the ludicrous dash switch and heater control layout ( which I still can't fathom out after 2 Griffs and many miles lol ) the slow T5 gear change, the std seats which are frankly appalling ( a bargain £10 quid Tuscan drivers seat has made a huge difference )
The battery buried in the passengers foot well is a major pain in the bum, the daft glove box catch which has been wedged shut with paper since it broke in 2010, the wishbones that just dissolve ( along with the chassis if not regularly inspected ) I could go on and on....
However Every drive is an adventure, the Beast never fails to put a huge grin on my face, you Never see another on the road ( perhaps 1,100 still survive out of 1,900 built ) and for a car that's now 16 years old, few cars are as quick to 100 and what looks as brutally elegant ?? And sounds so awesome ??

Just got the beast back, after a cylinder head over haul.
