You've read the thread title, right? So you're probably aware that it's a little light relief aimed at fools who think that a pretty girl (or more often a bit of a horror, judging by some of the content) will assist in the sale of the car, and also help to increase the views an ad generates, and therefore fetch a higher price.Grow up and grow a pair..
If your 'well respected friend' doesn't expect to respond well to negative comments about his daughter, maybe he should have thought twice about presenting her for the perusal of the usual bunch of internet saddos. Maybe next time, try pictures of just the car on it's own, or he could try hiring one of those 'grid girl' type rent-a-mutant things to pose with his motor, and then he'd avoid having any emotional investment in the girl and any consequent snidey comments made about her.
As far as that particular ad goes, she's a pretty girl in a very nice car, but I can't afford it, and I'm too old for her. So I'm going to refrain from comment about her, as I would have done even if you hadn't posted. However, trying to stymie comment and discussion on a thread that was created for that very purpose is silly, especially as you've gone down the 'it's personal' guilt trip route to do so. You may know the family, and that, quite rightly, should inform your decision to comment on the girl or keep your trap shut. Most posters in here have never, and probably will never, meet or know either the girl or her father. So grow up, and accept that internet forum users will comment when people post pictures of themselves on the internet, or grow a set and come right out and say that no-one should say anything mean about anyone, complain to the mods that we're all inappropriate and indulging in internet bullying, and get the thread shut down. See, if you feel that it's acceptable to mock a large lady in 'Daisy Dukes' selling a MOPAR car in the deep south of the USA, then it follows that it's acceptable to mock anyone, anywhere, selling anything. You must have been aware of the existence of this thread in order to see that post, so if you've ever commented on any of the 'ladies' featured in this thread, or even enjoyed a quiet chuckle to yourself when viewing the pictures, then I'm afraid you are just the same as everyone else who posts in, and views, this thread.
