Like a previous poster, i'm so glad this is good. As a design engineer i am so proud that the UK is still creating world-beating products. Shows the .gov a thing or two.

I love the look of the Mono, a proper update on a track car styling of the Radical or Seven styles.

Congrats BAC - now how to arrange a test drive when i'm back in the UK...

Great Review, he really got and understood the car!

We ordered one just by how it looked from a few drawings and a quick walk around the pre-production model, it looks that great...!!

I really want my car now having read this and watched the Autocar video review!!

If anyone has any questions on the car let me know happy to help and answer where possible.

How does one accrue the necessary funds to purchase a 80k, single seat track focused car please?

I too saw it at Goodwood, but knew about it before. It instantly hit my Lotto win car list. So much WANT.

idea ...take one balaclava, one pair of latex gloves and a weapon of your choice. Next, visit your local High Street bank...

Love it!!!

Looks a million times better than the x-bow and way better than the atom.

Only downide, one seat, but then at least no one can hop in the open seat at the lights (a la atom!)

The badge looks Mclaren F1 inspired...

I would see these options as follows;

1. Work hard
2. Be lucky
3. Marry wealth
4. Work in a room with lights a shade of red
5. Save for a really long time!

I am sure there are some others but will stick to these five for now! Good Luck!!

All very well, but you can't take your partner, instructor or mates out for a ride, so I think it's a bit silly.

Fantastic.

You just need to add it into the list of manufacturers and models so that it can go into my fantasy garage.

Video review here:

He really likes it! Looks like a whole shed-load of fun to me. If you've got the money for a car that is purely for the enjoyment of driving and nothing else then you'd be hard pushed to do better....apparently!

So strange how this is universally liked?

So - hats off guys you really have given the people what they want

(can i have mine in 2x seat form please and not 80k)

Saw this testing at Cadwell about a week ago, just before an evening trackday i did. The first thing i noticed was the noise, it sounded amazing, i thought it was some kind of F1 type racer. Went and had a look and the way this thing went was truly mental. I seriously want one.

I have been following this car very closely since I first caught sight of one at the Peter Saywell event at Goodwood circuit back in April this year. The build quality, engineering and attention to detail on what was effectively a pre-production car was quite simply unbelievable.

I then saw the car in action for the first time at the Festival of Speed and had a long chat with the owners of BAC and also the guys responsible for retailing the cars in the UK. Once again, I was totally blown away by the level of professionalism and dedication from both the owners, designers and also the dealership guys who are understandably very excited about this car!!

I was then invited to attend the Autocar test drive last week at the Longcross test track by the dealer (they are building their brand new dealership about 500 yards away from the circuit in Virginia Water) and I have now decided sod it, I want one!!

My deposit has been paid and I am already counting the days until it arrives, which is unfortunately estimated to be end of summer 2012 due to the high demand and low production situation. I have owned a reasonable number of special cars over the last 15 years but I cannot remember being so excited about getting my hands on a car as I am the Mono.....to me, this is the sort of car that I have been waiting years for, one that you drive simply because you want to for the pure enjoyment!

The fact that this car is only a single seater is for me a huge bonus...when you drive a car with this level of performance and excitement I want to have no distractions from other occupants and I want to fully concentrate and enjoy the whole experience...
