Jaguar is indeed re-inventing itself and no longer trying to re-live the glory days of Le-Mans wins from the 50s and 60s. The X-Type died because it aimed the old persons car image at a younger target. The word "Doomed", in the tone of that guy from dad's army, rang around my head when it was launched.
If nothing else I think the XK, XF and XJ as well as the various concepts all show that Jaguar no longer wants to be the brand that only the old would aspire to.
Hats off to Ian Callum and his team for making Jaguar exciting again, and to the Tata management for letting them get away with it?
Well said, I take my hat off to their new brand imagery and marketing of everything. A bold general statement is all new jags coming off the production line look really good and so much better than stuff of old. Just think ill be waiting a few years till I make the leap from German motors to anything else.If nothing else I think the XK, XF and XJ as well as the various concepts all show that Jaguar no longer wants to be the brand that only the old would aspire to.
