Does the S5 still have that lovely V8, or has it gone to the 6 pot that's in the S4?
It's had the Supercharged V6 for some time now! Cracking engine!Driven the S4 with that engine, quells the argument than all S cars don't handle or steer properly and that engine has excellent grunt!

I'm sure I just read a side piece in EVO this morning that said 700bhp for the 2012/2013 RS6. I'll double check tonight, because even as I type that it seems ludicrous.
That's nuts if true!! Can't see it though. Guy I know that works for Audi (doesn't mean it's true of course) states that the next generation RS's are going for their new weight saving technology. Arguably, better direction I think.PaulFontaine said:

Time for a new Transporter movie?
Would love some pics/info on the S7 and S5. Does the S5 still have that lovely V8, or has it gone to the 6 pot that's in the S4?
the orignal Transporter was a BMW thoughWould love some pics/info on the S7 and S5. Does the S5 still have that lovely V8, or has it gone to the 6 pot that's in the S4?
Technically speaking, the Lamborghini uses an Audi-derived 5.2 V10 BTW. The power and torque figures, the respective rpms at which they are produced are distinctly different - as is the noise.
It's dry-sumped in the Lamborghini and not in the Audi, however in both applications it uses Lamborghini's four valve layout, rather than VAG's usual five, it's basic architecture is built by Audi in Hungary and then either finished in Ingolstadt or Sant'Agata. I'd expect that level of generalism from Clarkson TBH.
I suppose now it uses a "Bentley" engine though...

I double checked last night - it said "2013 - RS6, an estate with almost 700bhp."
So I remembered it slightly wrong, however it's still nuts!
They're just guessing; that's the same output as the new Lambo V12. Expect it to have the V10 out of the Gallardo replacement packing 600hp, which is I should think enough. So I remembered it slightly wrong, however it's still nuts!
