The wheels on that look terribly out of proportion.
It's a trick of the lens, due to the angle the photo was taken. Looks perfectly proportioned in real life

yellow dot on the interior door opener of that 911 Turbo pic......

isn't it all about "happiness" and positive memories when you see those little yellow dots.... biggrinnuts

Definitely a very sexy car. There's probably a perfectly normal reason for those yellow dots...

Perfect garage? 1 of each. Actually hold on, that's greedy. I'll forgo the 3.0 and just have 3.3 onwards, to avoid any accusations of gluttony =)

I know that the 911 has it's fair share of detractors, but those "evolution" line ups really prove that the original design of the car has been very cleverly updated to cover modern crash tests, pedestrian safety, "feature bloat" etc without losing much of the original asthetic. Not only that, but in every single case, 150k mile examples are to be found still running around all over the shop, despite the supercar performance of the 911 turbo. If only the same longevity could be found in the italians, eh?*

Then i'd have an italian, obviously. With annual services at 350 squid, thanks.

Yes, the intercooler made the taller, "tea tray" spoiler neccessary, replacing the "whale tail" of the 3.0.

I've never heard of the first one being called a whale tail whilst the updated version on the 3.3, a tea tray spoiler. I've always just called either one, a whale tail, but I can see why they would be named differently as the 3.0 tail does indeed look more like that of a whale. Either way, it is sadly missed from the newer models.

Maybe it's just because I never liked the idea of calling the latter a "tea tray" as it doesn't sound very cool. smile

1st and 2nd are the same, no?

Wanted a 964 for years and noticed the other night if I sold both my cars I could probably get one. Should I realise the dream do you think? Or wait 4 years and treat myself for my 40th??
I would say get it done.....But I am a little biased

Anyone else think it just gets worse/blander the newer it gets.

It starts out with short overhangs, and distinctive, and well proportioned, and ends up looking like someones bought a Toyota Supra and stuck on a bodykit...

Me, I'd have one of the first two...........

So pic of the week from the profesionals are two of the crappiest pictures available, and within minutes we get some of the best pictures available, posted by people who care. The people behind Pic of the week should try and put some effort in. For a change.

I agree, to a point.

The 993T was/is great, but it lacks the really scary nature of the prior 2wd cars...until the 993GT2 came along smile

How many 993 GT2s did they make? Weren't they extremely limited production? Unlike the 996 and 997 GT2s which I see fairly regularly.

The basic siloette remains the same, but I agree the dimensions have changed a lot. The brand new one launched this week is even bigger. I think they have added something like 100mm tooth wheel base and it really does show.

yeah, understand where your coming from but as an all out drivers car the 993 turbo was better, anyone else thats driven the likes of a 965 turbo etc will know you could hardly give them any throttle around corners, they turned from being civilised cars to absolute beasts as soon as the GIANT turbo kicked in!
don't get me wrong i would love to own any one of those air cooled beasts and as you said the 993 gt2 is wow! i drove a tuned version and scared myself silly. love it! bright yellow with a race car carbon spoiler! attention seeker it was!
