Looks lovely, and apparently the engine's really awesome.
However, rest assured this new M5 is a step towards the faking of the automobile experience.
The M5 provides engine sound through its high fidelity sound system. So in the future when we are all driving electric vehicles, we'll still be able to listen to V8s or what have you, only it'll be artificial sound.
The M5 is the first step in this direction and for that it'll go down in history as the originator of the artificial driving experience. Not exactly M5 brand values, they way I had interpreted them, at least.
