I'm very annoyed with Mercedes, they should have built a W124 500E as a right hand drive estate for me.

They didnt, I am displeased with their lack of forethought for my future car whims.

The 500E was in LHD and saloon only, they had all the bits, but didn't build the right mix. Numpties.

And, even worse, there is no W123 500.

I could, I've done two engine conversions, but I just dont have the time, right now I'd rather buy it.

Closest thing I can see is an E430.

I'd say it might help somewhat considering there was 4000 changes made to the 300E for Porsche to deliver the 500E. A 300 twin turbo is good for around 300/320Bhp, so all is not lost.

Bristol going well thanks, such great cars. Still need to fix big wind noise problem that persists since accident repairs a few years ago.

If you could find a donor E500 could you effect a swap to an estate shell? Probably easiest if left LHD though. Or I shall shortly have a lovely 300SE for sale instead?

AFAIK there were many many changes to create the 500E (as mentioned above) and to do it in RHD would have been uneconomical (new steering box etc). I don't think there are that many v8 conversions for them, as most went down the turbo route at the time, although I do fancy a supercharged straight 6.
