Of course all we care about is that Sabine is okay and did the paramedics have to cut off her clothing ?

Expensive day out for a few people there (rented Corvette?!?), but at this time my thoughts are with the clothes of any female drivers involved hehe

These things happen. Shame about the M3. The 'Ring is the only place I'd want to drive a taxi.

OMG!

I don't fancy being the guy with the rental car's check-in conversation when he returns the Corvette to Switzerland!! 'No sir, there is definitely NO mention on the condition sheet about this fly st...or this scratch...or this...ARGHH'

I'm not a betting man, but I reckon he'll lose his deposit smile

Actually, looking at the pics below, the Vette looks to have sustained the least amount of damage. I guess that must be the one of eight that wasn't damaged???

Strut from the M3 ring-taxi.
There was roadworks, 30km/h zone I think?

A mate just put up photos on imgur.

A few pictures from the Jalopnik comments

http://swine.imgur.com/nurburgring_crash#044dY

The Corvette did get some damage, the picture at the top of the Jalopnik story shows the rear end corner damage. In the first picture in the imgur link it looked like it might have dropped some fluids, going by the track under the back of the car.

Oh one more thing, what was the owner of the VX220 thinking with that colour scheme?!? It looks like a VW Harlequin special edition or something.

Probably just had the VX rebuilt after a crash?

Platinum is a premium car dealership. They don't do rentals (to my knowledge).

That's the problem with the ring... you need to show it so much respect frown

I've been round there several times, luckily on quiet dry summer evenings and never had any problems. It's only afterwards that you think about the insurance aspect, and what exactly you would do if you hit some random piece of exotica or wiped out a few sections of armco... scary.

eek

These tourist days are a lottery, how long before they introduce some kind of rules or better monitoring?

I received a picture of this accident from a friend of mine who is at the 'ring and came across the accident (although wasn't involved) looked pretty scary!
