Asking Martin what he wants to do next brought a suitably fitting one-word answer on which to end this particular Carpool: "Nurburgring."

Great choice, love these and a performance bargain!

If only Lee Noble had stuck to building these : I had one of his proposed open versions on order but production never went ahead.

Seeing this one, it's really tempting me to buy one now

You would have to go some to break it, some make 600 bhp and 550 lbs on standard bottom ends.
Good to know! I really like the Nobel. Light, fast, looks tight, and doesnt nanny the driver with electronics.

I keep coming back to wanting one of these and then chickening out when I imagine some sort of mechanical problem when driving in Europe.

Love it.

Always thinks it looks like a Lotus Elise thats grown up a bit.

The only thing I would have to do would be to do something with that interior, but otherwise... whats not to like???

I've often wondered how well the 2.7 Biturbo motor would go into a Noble. Can't be that different from the TT Ford V6 in terms of size...

Having had 2 of them, covering nigh on 35K miles I've NEVER had an issue that stopped me driving it of any kind.Utterly fantastic cars, and most owners either keep for a very long time ( my M400 I've had 4 1/2 years)or sell and buy another.
Get one.

I saw a silver one just like this chap's in Leicester last week. Stopped at the traffic lights on the A47 at Malthurst crossroads, by the Esso garage (midday-ish). It wasn't you was it? biggrin

Okay okay, being Leicester is prob not surprising that I saw one (still, reagrdless of that, a rare beast on our roads smile).

No I've not driven every other car. But I have had some nice ones. The CSL and Nissan GTR are first in my mind, of course. They have come along and then been sold whilst my GTO3R ownership continues. Why. It simply is the best car to drive.

I suspect I'll have some more nice cars in the future as well. But I simply do not believe I will ever drive a car that gives you what an M12 gives you. It's hard to describe really. You don't have to be going fast (particulary round a tightening bend), or watching people smile as go you past. I think its just that it puts a smile on your face because you just know you are getting more driving pleasure than just about everyone else out there, except other Noble owners!

Lee, you really do need to build something like this again.

Chris.

I've put 35000 miles on mine in 4 1/2 years and the engine has never skipped a beat. It's the bolt on parts that will fail, like a turbo at some point or a manifold, but this goes with the territory. Compared to the servicing costs etc for comparable cars from the big boys, it's all peanuts.
As for looks, I don't know how many times I've lip read someone say 'Noble' when they look at it with either a smile or a look of confusion.
A very difficult car to replace for anything under 100k.

Which reminds me, I must check the Fenix Automotive to see whether it's a website or a parked domain! Lee was due to start producing a car with a V* from a ZR1 last year. BUt that was the plan quite a long time ago.

Guys, just seen the article and sent a message to Andy for a great write-up.
The car cost £27K and although I probably can't divulge the insurance company; It would be one of the first on the list if you used one of the comparison websites!!!

Thanks for all the positive responses.

And potentially the end of the car too if you take it there.

Go have a good drive through the Alps - way more fun and very much fewer d***heads.

"Nurburgring."

i.e. Total it with no insurance and have to pay loads to fix some track and no working to just brush it off and get another.

Yep the Alps.
