So the strict rule of no Video recording on tourist days is no longer applicable ?
Thought it was no exception rule.
Nasty accident, st happens though.....
It is banned, but not Policed very much by the looks of Youtube etal.Thought it was no exception rule.

It is interesting though that the basis for a ban on these is to try to stop people from playing to the camera, yet it would appear, such as in this case, that it could also highlight other issues which the 'ring might not want broadcast.
There will be some who would think nothing of posting corpse's in leathers which is a very good reason to prevent it - The ban it all lobby would have a field day.
On the other hand let us say that there was a significant incident and there were serious questions raised as to who was to blame with differing stories then the footage could be very helpful. Especially in situations where the relative competence of the drivers could, on the face of it, lead to undue weighting being given to one side of the story over the other.
Look at the Ring Taxi videos. On the face of it an incident where a taxi and a MOP car were involved you would understandably be expecting to see that it was the MOP who caused the issue. Yet with a video it would be easy to see if the Taxi was taking a bigger risk than they appreciated or if the MOP wondered into their path.
When £1mil+ PI claims could rest on the outcome I know that I would rather have a camera in my car than not.

Helluva thread-echo going on here.
Carry on guys, you've got about another 25 pages of duplicating Monday's thread to go.....but so far your plagiarisms are spot on.
fair enough, but some of us have a life and don't keep on top of EVERY SINGLE ONE of the thousands of threads that are posted weekly on PH, there's no need to be so stty about us missing one. Get a grip and read something else you do agree with, there's plenty out thereCarry on guys, you've got about another 25 pages of duplicating Monday's thread to go.....but so far your plagiarisms are spot on.

I was just pointing out that you can add your opinion to an existing thread rather than simply repeating the whole, lengthy episode.

Perhaps tell that to PH themselves who chose to start a new thread, rather than link the news item to the existing thread (assuming that's even possible).I was just pointing out that you can add your opinion to an existing thread rather than simply repeating the whole, lengthy episode.
Calm down dear, people are simple responding to the news item.

Driving faster than the space you can see to be clear or reasonably expect to be clear.
Ever been to the ring? Its full of blind crests 140mph+ corners, its half the buzz.If people followed what you are saying and assumed that there may be a flock of geese around every corner then I dont think that there would be many people attending the track or in fact any track

Let's be honest, although it technically is a toll road, it is perceived as, used as and promoted as a race track where it is not at all frowned upon to wring your cars neck.

If you watch round about 10:30 you can see the Ring Taxi hit the Corvette...
And spookily, at 6 mins, the e92 M3 that goes flying past, is the same one at the front of the accident queue (next to the VX220's) thats missing a wheel ...Ridiculous set of roadworks though. Although, to be fair, when i've been there, they've been just as bad!!
