Never been a huge fan of Capris, but these stripped early ones really flick my switch! Very nice motor indeed.

I almost fell of my chair when I read in a previous EVO that Barker had paid £30k iirc on building that black V8 Capri of his.

Turns out that probably was a shrewd move..

Love that perana capri, but have to agree i'd have a lot more toys i'd buy first if I had a spare £60k.

My first car was a Capri, this was in the early 90's when they were far from cool in anyway. I sold it for £300, however, i was the only one out of my group of friends to have a rwd car. So fond memories for that reason alone.

It does some laps vs. Henry Catchpole's new mk2 Escort rally car in the latest issue of EVO.

There's a Capri not far from me that I see occasionally with what claims to be a 4.0 litre engine. Not sure how real it is but the back end is certainly wider than normal.

Like it. But at that price it's just an "I'd like to be able to".

I prefer the styling on the genuine road going versions of the Perana Capri.

For £67K you're into mint e-type roadster territory. I know which I would rather have.

I recently purchased an RS3.1 for £17k which is a lot of dosh but they did only make 250 of them so with less than 100 left on the road its a cheap rare car that looks good goes OK and has loads of interest when out and about. £60k is probably what it cost to build the Perana look alike
so there is at least one person who thought it was worth it.

Not a Perana but 240bhp and only 10k in the classifieds.

I will say, it's an absolutely fantastic looking car, mint condition and blistering quick... raced in the Scottish Classics... had a slight altercation with the driver when he left me sideways at a silly speed

The only problem with this is the aftermarket spoiler and arches. Nice - that is if it's a genuine RS3100 and not a replica.

Still rather have the RS2600 though.

Addendum: I have just had a look and it's not, it is a replica - I had my suspicions with the body kit. I am also amazed at how much people think a standard Mk1 3 litre Capri is worth: £15k in today's market - I think not.

Trawling through the other ads there looked to be a very well sorted Mk 111 with a 5.7 litre chevy conversion for £7k. Now that's more like it.

Wow. Looks like that 3.0 GXL languishing in my garage may have been a sound investment at £850 a few years ago after all!

Did that end well?!

Seen you several times at SMRC events but didn't know you were a PHer. There's a few OKish photos of the car in here if you're interested.

I do like the green Capri too though, but not at that price. I grew up with my dad owning a succession of later Capri's but nothing more adventurous than a 2.0 Injection - he always regrests not getting one of the final 2.8's...
