i can understand this maybe if you literally run your car dry and the fuel pump is grabbing at anything it can but really in 99.99% of cases wouldnt the fuel filter pick up any particles or sediment that might get picked up by running a bit low?
Based on very limited experience I'd say that the fuel pick up is at the bottom of the tank anyway, you don't run out of fuel half way through a tank.I had to remI've the pump from an alfa 156 last year, it only pick up fuel from one place and that is at the bottom. No filter either and after 15 years no crap in the plastic tank.

Er. I'm being ironic. Like the supermarket fuel thing. All my cars haven't really exploded rambo19 said:

I am a fan of Redex since I got into engines when I was a kid.
I grew up a farm and would tinker with engines. I was amazed that the flymo engine I'd stripped the day before and soaked in Redex, I could wipe off the carbon from the piston as if it we're sludge with my finger. That stuff was rock hard the other day.
Also, I started putting diesel Redex in the tractor I drove. After a tank, cinders would come out of the funnel, this was the carbon being dislodged from the insides of the engine. It was visible at night on max revs.
So I am convinced it keeps an engine clean, that was 20 years ago, and the tractor is still going strong.

Try it now and you'd find it was as much use removing carbon as water is - ie pretty rubbish

Spot the shill!
My soon to be bro-in-law works in the marketing department for '3' (as in the mobile phone/data carrier). His job is to go around forums/social media/other internet haunts and subtly 'promote' the brand in the guise of a normal punter.
The trick is to do it without being spotted. He is quite skillful at it. One thing he knows not to do is to suddenly resurrect ancient threads that mention the brand.

Hi i am new here, and i used redex a few years back because the car i had failed on emissions, i gave it a good run after pouring in the redex, took the car back and it passed so yeah i would say it does what it is suppose to. Hope this helps.
Can we actually get a Redex management/head guy in here (come on PH has some pull) and just point out what an appallingly st job their paid advertising shills are doing? At least if they stop paying these morons we might get a better class of shill to sell us useless coloured paraffin.
In balance of the Redex shills... I obviously don't need to bother in our (new) petrol, but when I ran diesels I used to swear by Miller's EcoMax or whatever it's called these days. It stinks, the dosing cap leaks a little, but it didn't half put some pep in the engine. It's meant to increase the cetane value of the fuel by up to 4 numbers iirc. You could always tell if it was in the tank or not. I used to run through a 'cleaning' dose every time I got a car and then run the maintenance dose thereafter. If I forgot to use it, you could always feel the car was down on response and power. I don't know what the petrol version is like though. I only found it after the guys at the dervhead forum recommended it.
