There definitely is something to these cleaning solutions on modern engines. I can't for the life of me remember the brand but a trustworthy mechanic I know gave me a bottle when I had a clogged injector in my direct injection petrol. 20L of fuel and the entire treatment ran through the system and the injector becomes unclogged.

As previous posters have mentioned, it may be a placebo and the little bit of debris may have dislodged itself but for £4 for a bottle you can't really go far wrong.

I can vouch for Redex. If your big stinky V8, with no Cat fails the MOT on emissions buy some Redex and put a teaspoon full of it in your tank (or whatever amount you like). Take it a run, bring it back and get your mate Dave to stick the probe up some other exhaust pipe and hey presto it's a pass!

Works every time.
Don't wanna know where your mate sticks his probe.

Bloody cockwombles.
Steady on there Tyson. I`m not entirely sure if you are naive or just slightly challenged but it was only a joke.
Was also a joke, my decat passes every year beer

Try following the tanker & you will find they all use the nearest refineries. I saw a "Tesco" tanker fuelling up an "Esso" garage just the other day. As for Redex it does help with emissions. You only add half a pot to a tank of fuel so a £1 🤔

Every time I drive past Tesco I see cars exploding on their forecourt, it's worse than Kiev during a riot sometimes.
