Top shed! I'd love one of these, but I thought they'd long since moved into £6k+ territory.

Sadly (for me!) it is up for sale - due simply to lack of time to enjoy it and a wedding to pay for...
...in the spirit of this thread, how about letting me have it for a Grand...

Involves removing and splitting the prop shaft. So essentially undoing nuts and bolts, note any orientation marks on the shaft and ensure they line back up when you put it back together, or make your own marks.

I drove mine down to the Dordogne last year. Turned heads everywhere we went - especially rumbling through little French towns and villages. They don't seem to have many classics out there (other than aging 2CVs and the like). It was comfortable, reliable, quick and surprisingly economical.

It will definitely be missed.

The price is worth it for the looks alone.. Stunning.

I think the wheels suit it as well..

As mentioned by others, is there anything cooler than this for 'beer money'?

I too saw one in Inner Space with that guy who fired bullets from his robot finger/hand!

Apart from having a boat anchor engine, it is also an auto.

I haven't seen many auto 7alikes....

Lovely motor Jon - take it to Barney Halse at Classic Heroes if you're going to overhaul it.

But take your own tea...

Good Shedding! Love these and the CSi/CSL. Cars I think are worth spending the money on.

I really think I need a 6 series in my life!
My Dad had one back in the 80's and I'm sure he loved it more than my Mum!

Here it is...

We're definately breaking all the rules this week - we can't buy it and the person who did has no understanding of 'shedding' whatsoever.

You don't SORN a shed - you don't clean-up the paintwork. You might trace the source of a fluid leak if it's either dangerous or the fluid is costly enough to make it worthwhile - but shedding is NOT about restoring classic cars.

I don't really get why you buy a cheap 'heap' and then set out restoring it anyway - it's just throwing good money/time after bad!?

If you want to polish-up a really nice, solid, clean classic - start with a good base at least?

Anyway - can we get back to shedding next week please? Thanks...
Bad Friday, sir? biglaugh

But, in answer to your question, yes we can, but I shall be on holiday, so I can't promise it'll have the Riggers seal of approval wink

Oh hell no - it's just that shedding is one art, and restoration is another and it's both foolish and dangerous to mix them...

We need to keep 6's alive for sure (esp as they are so prone to rust being the last non-corrosion-protected BMW) but enough people around here are staring at £1000 smokers and thinking of restoration instead of running-them-to-death as it is without ENCOURAGING them smile

I bought this one in 2004, and it was an absolute belter. Even got a set of Avon Metrics on it. Utterly immaculate throughout, no rust anywhere at all on the body or chassis, and the paintwork was fabulous. Had spent most of it's life in South Africa, and owned by a diplomat apparently.

One of the cars I wish I still owned - I ended up selling it as I couldn't garage it anywhere, and it didn't deserve to live on the street. I really hope it is still around and giving someone some pleasure - it must be worth a fortune now if it is still in the same condition as when I sold it.
