Ah, those were the days!

Really, after the Delta Integrale became outmoded no-one was ever going to be able to stop the Japanese from dominating rallying. No other company or country had the expertise or the drive to beat off the likes of Toyota, Subaru and Mitsubishi. Conversely, rallying was far more exciting in the 80's and 90's than it is now. I still like it now, but it's nowhere near as fun to watch. I love digging up the old clips on youtube, as watching a Citroen and a rather uninspiring Ford do battle has gotten tired.

And on another note, Ford making a rally car as uninspiring as the Focus RS is a shame, given their amazing rallying history.

I remember the helmet smash through the rear window on the Corolla like it was yesterday.

Also I always found it weird that Richard Burns has to make do with a Mitsubishi Charisma instead of an Evo.

No it has not...they won the Production Car World Rally Championship (PWRC) in 2008, 2009 & 2010

The Ford & Citroen Rally Championship, otherwise known as the WRC is not the only rally championship
