RE: Ginetta G60 Unveiled At Silverstone
Discussion
I love it! Very TVR'ish interior, and I have never been a fan of that suede looking material many low production manufacturers use on the inside dash and surrounding areas inside their vehicles, but not bad either way. The carbon fiber arm rests on the inside of the doors all carbon fiber doesnt blend well with the rest of the interior, seems out of place, they should have left it one way or the other, but not bad again. The aluminum rail in the same location again looks out of place, almost like a handicap bathroom stall rail. but I like it nonetheless.
For the price I really like this car. There arent very many options in that price range to choose from that have the same exotic look/feel and performance. I think this would be a great car to run against the Evora S. I look forward to that review!

Its not a fail, because you are wrong.I saw it in the flesh both as unpainted carbon fibre and painted and the photos do not do it justice. That is why I said you can't tell properly. And as for the interior the photos are dire, so I don't see how you can claim to form a proper opinion from those.
I'm sorry. but that is how it is.
I actually agree that in the pics the vent on the side looks odd, but it doesn't in the flesh.
I quite liked it in its unpainted form Its a bit dusty though

That quoted power to weight ratio of 305 bhp/tonne is massively optimistic. If the car weights 1080 Kg, with a maximum power output of 310 bhp, then the actual power to weight ratio is "only" 287 bhp/tonne!!
Even at a glance, a car that is heavier than a tonne by nearly 8% of a tonne isn't going to loose just 5 bhp (which is just 1.61%) of it's maximum power when converted to a power to weight ratio!!
Durrrrh....

The British sports car maker Farbio has released details of their new 2009 Farbio Track Day Car. Weighing just 956kg (2108 lbs), the track car has a power to weight ratio of 366 brake horsepower per ton.
The Track Day Car is based on the supercharged Farbio GTS350.The car comes with intercooler and upgraded injectors, a fuel bag tank, carbon fiber body, uprated gearbox with limited slip differential, dry sump and low profile Toyo R888 tires. The car will be road legal unless the customer specifies otherwise. Like anything good, the GTS S400 Track Day Car will limited to only 25 units

If Lawrence wants the G60 to be taken seriously, launching it in a tent at Silverstone draped in blonde bimbos is not the image most buyers of an expensive car would want to be associated with.
If your moving your products up-market,everything has to move with them.
Car looks terrific!

Farbio was 1200kg minimum and there never has been a 410BHP version maybe not even a car with true 350BHP. Why do you think Ginetta built in 3,7l instead of the supercharged 3l version? Why waiving of power steering, brake assistent, heavy Khan wheels, heavy seats (maybe 15kg less)and so on. The car now should be at 900kg starting from 1060kg (Farbios statement about weight). I am not sure if 1080 were a little bit too optimistic at all.

I thought you meant the exterior as well. I am in two minds about the cabin, and want to see the fitted out car properly, I have only seen a development car. Cabins like that can be odd, I find they often look and feel beter in the flesh, nobles, elise etc all spring to mind.
As a G15 owner I can certainly recognise a few styling cues, especially from the rear. Does my heart glad! And I actually like the vent in the side - at least it's different, and as long as it serves some functional purpose then it has my vote. F1s aren't designed to look good after all, but they do anyway.
Price I have to say is rather steep though. Looks like it's destined to be a rare beast.

I want to see this vrs a Evora S
AUTOCAR comparison test in today's issue. LOTUS will not like this!!8 pages of great news for Ginetta.
Autocar says 'Official' the G60 is this year's MOST EXCITING NEW SPORTS CAR.
It's calling it 'Britain's 911' and it beats the Audi R8 and ...yes, the Lotus EVORA in a 3 car test.
Apparently, Autocar were going to do a back to back with the Cayman but they said the Porsche couldn't touch the Ginetta!
Thought you might like to see some latest pic's of a finished G60 car ( at least as far as I know) , for what it's worth I think it looks great , the famous 'fit and finish' of the car looks fantastic ( carbon fibre panels remember) and the red interior ( not the best quality picture) looks very nice and good quality and nothing like a 'kit car' that has been mentioned earlier in this thread.
I think they are worth every penny of the £68k asking price, ( Lotus , Porsche , etc etc etc are not carbon fibre mini super cars imo ).
Enjoy :-)
