Think a new GT3 RS 4.0 would be both a better investment and a better driver’s car.

Agreed, maybe if I saw one in the metal I'd change my mind, sometimes that's the only way young eyes can appreciate an old car

I remember back in the very late 1980's when Bramley Cars (near Guildford) had some of these in. It was before the crash/ recession and they were advertised at £330K. That equates to £640K in todays money at an average inflation of 3.2%.

Being able to afford that would be great, deciding whether or not to use it would be a nightmare.

I wouldn't, but the chances are, that someone who buys a 959 probably has at least another supercar in their collection. Now imagine having both!

Chalk and Cheese, one is a brute force racer the other is a technological show piece. The 288 GTO was it's contemporary from Maranello anyway.

You'd have one as well an an F40. They are totally opposite cars which sums up the two ways to approach a supercar.

yes

In an ironic twist I'd say that the modern-day equivalent of the 959 isn't a porsche but a Ferrari.

As much as I hate to say this, I wouldn't drive it getmecoat. Imho it's too special, especially with delivery miles.
IF I could buy it, I would definitely drive it. I can't bare collections of unused cars.
Same. Driven, and properly as well smile

Did I spot a factory fit roll cage?

Ether way, it needs a full tank and a good hard thrashing, cars are meant to be used, if you want something to hide away as an investment and look pretty buy a bloody painting.

I suspect it never will get used though, since its claim to fame seems to be the fact that it hasn't been used yet.

£750k rofl oh dear not ever, not ever.

A very bland bit of metal to park in the darkness of a garage.

Was it sold by Carlos Slim by any chance?

Yes I am sure that with loads of lovely metal around at any time and a delivery mileage 959 Maltons bosses handed the keys to the YTS at the local Kwik Fit to go and fetch the butties.
