Ether way, it needs a full tank and a good hard thrashing, cars are meant to be used, if you want something to hide away as an investment and look pretty buy a bloody painting. TBH I think it all depends on how the whole production run is used. If the majority of them were used and abused then keeping the odd one in this kind of condition can be a good thing, otherwise they might all end up crashed/thrashed/rusted away.

Now this is the car I have always banged on about the 959 Sport. Most people dont even know it exists!!
legend has it the germans were very upset the F40 stole the 959's thunder so they made 100 Sports that can actually top 200 mph vs the regular 959's 197 maximum...
In any event the 959 was always a genuine sub 4 sec 0-60 car so was always quicker off the mark than an F40, and with a leather clad, air-conditioned, sound deadened cockpit, this car has always been a masterpiece of engineering. Just a tad too clinical alongside the flame spitting, back firing go-kart the F40 always was!

Awesome car - shame it hasn't been driven.
Imagine having £330k back in the late eighties to buy one though!
The F40 wasn't as expensive back then, was it?
And, weren't this sold at a loss?

And, weren't this sold at a loss? 959 originally sold for $250,000, according to Porsche it cost twice as much to produce. Nevertheless sales generated around $84 million to add to their racing budget.

delivery miles, been stored for 15 years? Wouldn't like to estimate the cost in getting that into running order, on top of the top money paid to acquire it. Avoid. Would rather have one that has been driven, serviced etc than kept in a garage by a non petrolhead with the sole reason of making a profit.

As far as I can learn from the article, there is no passenger door mirror, the roll cage and what looks like a full harness for the driver, I imagine (knowing Porsche) there were other tweaks as well, anyone have any additional info please?

One of them the comfortable cruiser with massive perofmance, the other the more focused drivers car. Less usable but arguably more special.

Just imagine. The appreciation. Seriously - the fuel would have been bought for 30p a litre, he could now get 5 times that!  A great, if a little, unusual story though - very interesting to see  For me the real interesting part is the seats. Even on 1000 mile garage queens you can see that they've at least been sat in - but those look like they just came off the production line!
