Turn the engine off.
Take off your seatbelt.
Open the door.
Swing your legs out of the car.
Stand up, taking care not to hit your head on the doorframe.

Great car, absolutely great car.

Loved mine, joint best car I have ever owned, surprisingly nimble and the power was relentless. In the end sold it and moved on, regret it in a way, but I always had a nagging feeling in my mind that £10k on an 16 year old car was a waste.

That being said, as soon as I stepped in it, all those thoughts disappeared.

I had a early 2.8i back in the day, when everyone else had the Capri Injection. The Supra was such a better car. Never liked the rounded 3.0 and the supercar stuff after that.

Had one, loved it, sold it, missed it a bit, probably wouldn't have another, glad I had one when I did.

They are a bit dated now and easily ruined with crap modifications (or enhanced with sensible ones) but go for it, just buy a good one and don't skimp on running costs, if you look after one it will be nice, fail to do this and it will bite your wallet.

Bit too big and heavy for me.

Have you considered an RX7 FD or a R32 GTR ?

Damn, I remembered what I miss now smile

There are lots of other equally good (and better) cars to sample but I'd generally have a MKIV Supra on my list of cars I'm glad I've experienced.

You've all lost me now.

What are these extreme running costs you speak of?

RX7... rattletastic, squeaktastic, creaktastic, clunktastic, bumptastic.
Difficult to live with as an everyday car I would say, compared to a Supra anyway.

The R32 GTR has a similar kerb weight to the JZA80 Supra, very little between them - except the Supra is better built and more comfortable whilst being faster overall.

The FD3S RX7 is small, cramped and noisy - difficult to find an unmolested one.

@ coupe crazy

I don't think the Supra is faster or quicker than a like for like Skyline. If anything the 4WD system would make the skyline faster of the mark and point to point

Ok, the interior is better in a Supra, but I'd say overall the Skyline would be the better all rounder.

I'd give an R32/33 a try too.

You should definitely try and R33. Decent interior, cracking engine, loads of space / practicality and a far better drivetrain... IMHO

I think you need to try another one.

Mine had a couple of squeaks when I bought it - easily solved just maintenance jobs the previous owner hadn't done.

The hardest thing to live with is the mpg but the looks make up for it IMO.
