You lucky man smile
No....it really is a dog, the previous owner treated it with no respect, & sold it cheap. I'm not sure he knew what he had. I think if i were to get it upto a decent standard, it'd turn into a money pit.

I was only a kid but I seem to remember there was quite fuss in the press that such a dangerous weapon could be sold in UK. It's a wonder we all survived biggrin Anybody got a link to any of the original news stories?

Love the Carlton, always have.

LC+ does anyone remember those ramraid / robbers that had one for a while and never got caught? sadly was found in a canal.

LC- I know it wasnt a Lotus but I cant help but think of this horror project when Carltons pop up in conversation:

Ended up in a shop window IIRC.

12valve with a turbo fitted by Courtenays - supposedly 270bhp.

ICS in Shrewsbury did the stereo install

I will have one (LC) before I die, just can't justify even as 3rd car at the moment. My harley is painted Imperial Green as a kind of tribute to the 4 door supercar

Personally I think they should have built one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260882896405?ssPageName=...

I don't know whether it would actually be wrong to buy this (if it isn't rotten) & complete the job properly with correct drive train! (prepares to get flamed)

Yes, 'twas the first copy of Max Power I bought paperbag

And yep, it ended up going through a music shop window, a shop which the winner of the car happened to own. Car got crushed IIRC.

It would have to be the carlton for me but i wonder how a vxr8 would compare as there about £15k these days
I have a VXR8 Monaro (the old VZ two door) and I think it would compare pretty well to be honest. The Carlton is obviously an icon and I would like to own one of course, but bang for your buck the later Vauxall takes some beating now - its a hoot!

Heres's the Fifth gear comparison of a VXR8 vs a LC ( with the wick turned down slightly ) at Anglesey
